Admittedly going to piss some people off with 1, maybe 2 of my old habits from my commercial gym days
1. Call it 4-5 years ago now, heaviest body weight bulk at 257 lbs, I’m 6’. I never really wiped anything down. I did once the gym opened back up after/during COVID, but that stopped after a while. Just didn’t care. I never sweated on much cause most of my sets were anywhere from 4-8 reps and I wore a lot of sweatshirts and sweatpants. My chalk use was rhe only real “mess” and I never thought it was that bad. Residue on bars mostly. Got a lot on my bag during deadlifts.
2. I definitely slammed weights. Deadlift days were the worst. Bloated up, mass amounts of caffeine, high blood pressure, rage music, and a chip on my shoulder from baseball not panning out made me want to simply be the guy no one wanted to mess with. My barbell bench was never very good, but my dumbbell bench and deadlifts were plenty heavy enough to respect so at the time I just let it all rip. Never slammed squats though, and was never one to make many noises while lifting, other than weights bouncing around
3. Never really flexed in any mirror, but was never shy about taking off my sweat shirt, into my t shirt or cut off, once my main stuff was done.
Other than that, I put my headphones in each evening or weekend morning, only small talked a hand full of people, and just got after it each day during the 5-6 year span I was there.
My wife and I started a family, I built my garage powerlifting gym, and new habits came with those gym changes. Had to chance my body quite drastically as well, so focuses have changed some as well
