It all depends if Chubba can pass decent. That in itself can open up the run game. Chubba has enough athletic ability to run when he needs to but when he played under Frost he seemed to have happy feet and wouldn’t let the play develop. I don’t know if the sample size was there to know what he is.
You're forgetting that he threw like a girl. If he looked semi competent throwing last year I'd agree.

Has HH regressed as a runner?
I honestly think he got really shaken up from all the big hits he's taken. Especially last week vs Purdue. Rhule brushed it off like it was nothing but I've been watching CFB for 40 yrs....I know when a dude is shaken up.

Rhule/Satterfield clearly knew HH was shaken up: you could tell by the way they called plays. It was clear early that the only offense that was gonna work for us was the HH/battering ram offense (used vs Illinois).

Rhule/Satt knew that offense would work but they knew HH is gonna get royally fucked up (concussion/injuries) if they ran that HH 20 carries offense. That's why they couldn't settle on any other offensive scheme - nothing else would have worked today besides the HH battering ram offense. But they couldn't call it bc they didn't want to see a 20 yr old kid die on the field.

The HH battering ram offense was the only thing that has worked for us consistently this year. That is our best chance of winning games in MSU-MD-WI-IA stretch....but Rhule/Satt CAN'T use that offense anymore. HH is too battered at this point physically and mentally.

The only thing that gives me pause is that pre-Sims CU implosion with injured Purdy, HH was actually on the depth chart behind him.

At this point, though, HH at least has experience. I would be terrified of rolling Purdy out there for his first start against any remaining Big Ten team.

I just remember him more than anything seeing the first read and running. I also believe there is a reason HH wasn’t replaced today. That probably tells you more than anything.

Yea I guess I don’t understand why you don’t give him a shot to start the second half for at least a series or two. Best case scenario, he’s HH 2.0 and lights a spark. Worst case scenario, we still have HH.
I think Rhule is going ride or die with guys for some reason. Did it with corcoran til he got hurt & is doing it with haarberg. Once u start pulling guys back & forth, it can make shit worse but maybe it’s a long term culture thing. Or Purdy is even worse than hh

They seemed to have no issue playing games with the RB rotation

The only argument against that is I think that Rhule has said he doesn't want to put a guy in the game in a position that is asking too much of him. Asking Purdy to lead a come back after not playing all season would be a pretty tall order. I don't think it necessarily precludes a decision during the week that Purdy would give them a better chance as the starter. (Not that I think that will happen)

Go back and watch games he played in last year.
I just can’t hold anything against the QBs last year. Whipple and co. didn’t seem to give two fucks. Yeah, that Minnesota game was brutal, but Whipple’s “run game” was laughable. He ran the ball just to run the ball and keep the defense honest.

HH didn’t give you much today. You had multiple opportunities to replace HH if the staff thought Purdy was worthy.

Whipple did play to the strength or the team though which was Thompson and Palmer.

Purdy throws like uncle Rico I thought we discussed that here.

He ain’t even close to the answer.
