Yard Care

No Worries Comedy GIF by Paramount+

I've heard good things about them, have had positive experiences with Quality Irrigation, and have a friend who just started this place:

I haven't used them yet for my system, but plan to. He's a good guy who does good work.
Millard and Quality’s bids were the same price. My in laws have Quality. I guess my thought is the bigger company is maybe the better choice when the bids are the same? Idk, trying to make the right choice for the next decade or two

What do you fellas do under the swings of swingsets? Kids obviously wear away all the grass & create little troughs there, which get muddy after every rain. Thinking about putting down mats like this:

Not sure on the mats, my daughters got old enough I just got rid of the damn things (Swingsets). Neighbor uses pea gravel around their Trampoline/swingsets but he also had all that set before puting in underground sprinklers. The rubber mulch would work also pretty well I'd think, just depends on your sprinklers or situation

Yeah, I've got young kids + another on the way, so the playground is sticking around a while. I love everything about having it in grass except for those 3 strips - pea gravel & rubber mulch are viable, I just prefer something where I don't have to create a new boundary or edge.

Got the edger out yesterday and did some of God's work, and watered for a while. Just beautiful

Also got a little drunk on a Sunday night last night for the first time since I was 21. Happy Monday

Took me about 2 minutes of trimming the hedges in front of my house with sheers to realize I need an electric hedge trimmer. I ordered one on the spot but it won’t arrive until Wednesday. I figured my forearms would be in decent shape due to jacking off and whatnot, but man am I sore today.

Working from home today, in ground sprinkler system being installed as I type this. Tough sight seeing all the grass being ripped up by the shovels and trench digger, but the long game will pay off huge. Very excited it's happening!

It's pretty cool. Make sure they're calibrated to cover the sunny areas of your yard really well. We've got a couple areas that they get to, but kind of light coverage, and in the same zone with some shady areas, so it's either over-water one area, or under-water a different one.

Still keeps the yard pretty nice, but best to get it optimized from the get-go.

In a weird way it just gave me some self accomplishment and pride to do it myself, but I just don't have the time during the week anymore to do it consistently enough

Will do. I figure for what it costs, I'm going to ask all questions I can think of and make sure I get picky and selfish with how I want it.

Held off mowing for a week and a half while it hasn’t rain. Finally caved in and it’s still looking decent. Hammering the water though now

Best thing I did when we built our new house was have them add drip lines through the landscaping that are on a separate zone and get a WiFi controller. I bought a RainMachine at the time. That thing uses AI to automatically adjust your watering based on all of the weather data it collects. Saves me a ton in over watering.
