Mowing around the house? Any rider with a big deck.
The 9 acres? The 35 acres?
My advice: 100 Timeless fence posts, 4 spools of poly wire, 2 solar packs and get some livestock to rotational graze.

Toro has the zero turn with the my suspension. My dad has 5 acres and a has a Big Dog zero turn, believe 52” deck. He only cuts about 3 acres with that though. Works great, rides great

SRP came out last week and said they needed to fix a line that's in our front yard...they came out yesterday and basically dug an 8 foot trench in my front yard, destroyed one of my trees and bushes, then didn't compact the dirt in the trench area, so now it looks like we have this weird elevated bump that looks dumb as hell. You never know what this World has in store for you...one day, everything is normal and the next, chaos.

They finished installing Allo internet lines on my block last week. Dude down the street from me had one of the crew's backhoes parked on his sidewalk grass for the night with caution tape around it after them digging a giant hole and filling it back with the same dirt during the day. Grass destroyed. Looked horrible.
When I was getting my fence installed 2 years ago, I went with a local company my wife found on facebook to save a grand, the guy did not dig a little bit by the marked gas line, and instead used the auger first. I later learned the rule of thumb is "dig before you auger" or something close to that, and he popped a gas line in the middle of the summer, think it was about 97 out that day. Got a call shortly before lunch that the gas line was popped so needed to go home and check that out. Came home to OPPD, Black Hills, a fire truck, and fire fighters all around my house checking on possible gas emergencies. My wife and newborn were inside and the windows had to be open for a while to make sure no gas stayed inside. Guy also augered a whole about a foot over mine and my neighbor's property line so she was standing outside pissed off about that.

Been doing some prep for a fall yard fix (it's okay, but has some problem areas especially near the street & where it gets sun pretty much all day).
Been hand-pulling lots of crabgrass/weeds every time I'm outside over the last few weeks (my wife makes fun of me for how much I do it); got the yard aerated a few days ago; been doing regular light watering to keep the ground from getting parched, and timed things up with the weather and last heat wave pretty well to do a shorter mowing right before the storms yesterday.
Got some Heat Wave Plus grass seed & starter fertilizer from Grass Pad ready to put down, & a winterizer for later to keep it happy until spring. Feels like I aced this prep.

OPPD came and put in new lines. Directional bores so not as bad as a trench. They came and filled in the hole nice in the front but left the hole and pile of dirt in the back.

Dont feel like renting an aerator this year. Took 20 minutes last year for how small my yard is, also cant lift more than 30lbs due to surgey.
Anyone every use them spiked shoe thingy and how well did they work.

Think the spikes just compact...they don't really aerate well, I don't think.

If it ain't lifting dirt out of the ground, it ain't aerating properly. Those spiked shoes put holes in the ground, but they do it by pushing dirt to the sides, effectively making it more compacted instead of less.
