If the best we can do is Sasse then we just aren't really trying to be a serious institution. Take that however you want, but know that Sasse is an empty suit that splurts out some buzzwords he thinks sound important and also has the audacity to put some of that crap in a book and say it's about "parenting". A completely pliable plastic person that can bend and twist into whatever shape or position is best for Ben Sasse at that moment. If that's what you want in a leadership position then Sasse is your man.

And then yeah what you said about athletics. Bama had an enrollment boom under Saban. Some of that was because their leadership saw they could attract 32+ ACT students from northern states with generous scholarships who Illinois, for example, turned their nose up because they're elitist toot sniffers.
