Inside Info Source - Klassy is confirmed

It's the AD equivalent of promoting a coordinator to head coach. If the whole athletic department administration needed to be burned down and rebuilt, I'd be very concerned, but that's not the case here. It's not like we're promoting Pederson or Eichorst's hand-picked successor, here.

My question is will Klassy be objective with Frost and the job he is doing?

You must be following a different ath. dept. than me. Volleyball, bowling, baseball, wrestling are the only teams worth a shit. The department is rife with political squabbles between numerous stake holders who think they are “shot callers” including a former iconic coach of ours. Its a bigtime mess, and needed an exterminator rather than a librarian. JMO.

This sounds over the top and borderline unhinged

I’d have been more concerned if we hired outside. All we heard after the Eichorst debacle was the “athletic dept needed to pull in the same direction”. Moos hired who everyone wanted, I don’t think you can burn everything to the ground after 3 years (1being a bizzaro COVID year). If that’s how you make decisions, you have major issues in leadership. I’m fine if it’s Klassy. None of us know shit about ADs so I’m at the “who cares” level on this.

It’s what we all did when Moos was hired too. Outside of a handful of guys who won’t be switching jobs, nobody knows ADs by name other than their own.

This is true to a large extent. I guess what I was referring to is that I didn't know Klassy existed until recently -- or forgot that he did.

The Joe six pack fan that's not on TPB or RSS would've likely heard of Ed, Jamie or Turd. That doesn't even mean they'd make a better hire than Klassy. For all we know Klassy is a star in the making and will turn out to be one of the best AD's we've ever had. The concern should be that we went internal because Admin wants control, and will not allow the AD to do their job.

We’re getting a little bit weird here. Moos was fired for an alcohol related incident one minute and now he was fired because he wasn’t a “Yes man.”

If this is coming from two different people, I get that. Two different people are going to hear two different things. Totally normal.

They’ve been trying to fire Moos since April of 2019. If they wanted a yes man and he hadn’t been a yes man this whole time I kind of think they’d have found a way to push him out in the summer of 2019.

In Klassey’s bio on the university website they credit him with a TON of shit getting done around here over the last couple of years. Examples:
- Took the lead in developing Nebraska’s NIL initiative and the programs to help student athletes
- Spearhead the development of Husker Athletic Partners, the in-house multimedia agency after we split from IMG. So the athletic department can retain 100% of the media revenue
- It also claims he was at least partly in charge of fundraising for the new facilities, now we all know that was a lot of bounds and Davison, but it sounds like it was at least more than what Bill was doing
- Also says he implemented and managed the covid 19 protocols for athletes and staff

Now that’s probably a little bit of them trying to sell him as the AD, but if he is responsible for even 50% of what they are claiming he was a lot more active than Bill who by many accounts;
missed tons of big games of various sports, was a shit fundraiser, had a track record of being reckless with managing funds, had the OU game debacle happen on his watch, fumbled PR issues a number of other times, evidently had a serious enough drinking problem several large donors reportedly wanted him removed a couple of years ago.

Now everyone points to the hires he made, and sure that’s fine he made good hires but honestly he was just the middle man between the money and those coaches. He hired exactly who the big stakeholders wanted anyway. So I can’t give him that much credit for the hires when any AD would’ve probably hired the same people, at least in the big 3 sports (FB, BB, and BSB).

now if you’re Ronnie and the board and you see an assistant AD who’s far out performing your current AD who is absent a lot of the time anyway, and who has a record of the things I spoke of above, AND college athletics is moving into a new era with NIL, I feel like while IDK if it’s a “great” hire, I can at least understand why the decision was made when it was.

I mean the fact that they were willing to pay $3 million to make Moos go away says a lot. If Frost really forced that he has massive nuts

If there was a riff between Moos and Frost, Frost was likely not the only coach to have an issue with him. Fuck, we’ve got a coach who was about 5 outs away from headed to a super regional and Moos didn’t go to like any of his games.
