So um, Bourbon thread? Yeah, Bourbon Thread.

What do you guys typically find Eagle Rare priced at where you’re at? I saw one yesterday and went to grab it but saw it was $90. That seems way higher than I’ve seen before.

A gas station chain in Omaha always has it for $100, crazy that it’s always available. Other than the bottles I recently got for $48, I haven’t seen one in months if not years.

The one I tried was really good. I don’t recall which one it was but I can’t say it is over priced and gimmicky when it was better than all the over hyped buffalo trace products.
I’ve thought all 3 were average to pretty good and I’m also not a big BT guy. I do really enjoy a lot of HH products, though.
Overpriced IMO because of the ages, which I believe they are 6-7 years old and retail is $100-115.
I say gimmicky because there isn’t much differentiation with the product. It’s basically just a claim that they used superior grains.

I hear you. I stopped putting weight into aging after I had peerless. Their 2 year ryes coming out in their first couple years were phenomenal. Starting off at $100 a bottle seemed insane until I tried it. Conversely, the original Orphan Barrels were all old yet half the flavor as peerless.

There has been a BT explosion here. Prices vary EHT has been about $55-60, ER $45-55, BT has been on shelves sitting for over a year, typically between $25-35.
Some stores are still not caught up with the market and are way overpriced. Their bottles are getting dusty

Yea, when I say age, I am mostly referring to the depth of the juice.
And I agree 100% on Peerless! I love them, and pay their prices because what’s in the bottle is dang good!
I haven’t had any Orphan Barrel because the prices are just wild most of the time, but they have been really falling off a cliff lately.

I haven’t seen a bottle in a store in my area for several years. My youngest son has a buddy who works for their parent company and gets me a bottle of Blantons or Eagle Rare every month, but that’s it. Blantons is running $100 and Eagle Rare $80. Don’t know if the guy steals it, gets it as some employee discount program and sells his off, etc. I prefer Weller to either, but that wasn’t your question.

Serzerac needs to get their shit together on distribution. There is other drinkable bourbon out there.

It’s amazing I can actually find sezerac rye in my area pretty easily for around $45 which is very good rye. But yet Weller, Blanton, eagle rare all seem to be very hard to find. The eagle rare I have, thanks to Scott hall, is very good but I agree there’s just as good if not better bourbons out there for the same money ($45) rather than the excess premium they are asking for those bottles. Scott Hall is hooking me up with a bottle of Weller this weekend but that’s only because I’ve never had a bottle of that either.

If you don’t like Weller, you’ll be one of the few I’ve heard have that opinion.

That said, you like what you like. That’s kind of the whole point to me.

You better like it, getting a 1.75 big boy bottle. I also have a couple surprises thrown in..

Saz around Omaha is in the $33-35 range I believe. I think Costco usually has it for under $30.
