Family had a bad experience with a mini goldendoodle… I am sure yours will be great and be a wonderful friend and companion though.
I am partial to Setters myself, but I do vacuum 4 times a week (but that makes the wife think I am helping her out, so sometimes it’s a plus)

I have a 3 year old golden doodle and we just put down our 14 year old golden doodle a few weeks ago. Both extremely well behaved, never needed kennels, never had accidents (until she became incontinent), excellent with kids, no shedding, mild mannered, follow instructions, on and on and on. Cannot go wrong with a golden doodle unless you don't give a shit about training them.

May sound dumb but Cesar Milan and other people like that are really helpful. I have a few like trigger noises that stop her dead in her tracks. Dog has to know who is in charge. Potty training for us was all about routine, made them sit in the same spot right before we would go outside and praise like crazy when they go to the bathroom outside. Sit, stay, fetch, etc all pretty standard. Expose them to other dogs and as many people as much as you can.

Labs are as inbred as anything. They're completely fucking nuts until they're about 3 or 4. Once you get to that point they're the best dogs in existence.
