So I'm officially becoming a fancy boy and want to buy a double barrel shotgun.
75%+ of use will be for hunting upland & 25% of use will be for random small game. (I have a Mossberg 590 I take waterfowl hunting/binge drinking in a blind)
Give me some recommendations boys.
1) I prefer an O/U to side by side.
2) I'd prefer a 20 gauge but I'll listen to argument for a 12. (Don't even try to sell me on a 16 or 28)
3) absolute max price of $2,500 (the lower the better cuz I plan on telling my wife until after the fact)
I have a Mossberg 500 in .410 and a Mossberg 590 12g and a single shot bolt action old as fuck .410 Mossberg I inherited from my Dad. I'm most certainly NOT a shotgun guy and have no idea what brands are good/bad or what to look out for.

Over under Beretta, I believe the 686 Silver Pigeon comes in either a 12 or 20 gauge. So I'm officially becoming a fancy boy and want to buy a double barrel shotgun.

That would definitely put him in "fancy boy" status. Great firearm, though. A Browning Citori would also cement his "fancy boy" status, and based on model and sale prices would keep him within budget.Over under Beretta, I believe the 686 Silver Pigeon comes in either a 12 or 20 gauge.
I have an over under beretta 12 gauge that I got back in the early 90s and maybe has only 2 boxes of shells shot through it. Mostly got it for shooting clays after having fun learning how to do it at a resort down in Mesquite NV. Might sell it since I’m it sure if I can shoot a rifle or shotgun again due to my medical device. That would definitely put him in "fancy boy" status. Great firearm, though. A lower priced option (get a 12 and a 20!) would be a CZ (various models) or if @God is a Husker wants to keep his Chevy pickup friends and stay within the Mossberg family, they have several modestly priced O/U shotguns as well. Slightly upscale from those guys is the Franchi brand, which is the mid-point lineup from Benelli (Stoeger, Franchi, Benelli are like Chevy, Buick, Cadillac in the General Motors maturity continuum).
What do you want for it? Pm me if interestedI have an over under beretta 12 gauge that I got back in the early 90s and maybe has only 2 boxes of shells shot through it. Send me a PM.Anyone ever have luck down on public around Tecumseh? Thinking about checking it out towards the end of the week and next week before the gun guys get going.
Will be my first time doing public land.

Nice. My son and I were out yesterday morning, and saw more deer driving to the public land than we did while sitting in our respective blinds (he's young and in a tree stand, I'm in a ground blind). I've dialed in on one buck and we did get a chance to watch him for a while and confirmed an earlier point in his "daily path". You'll never guess where I moved my ground blind to!First sit of the season tonight: 5 doe, 5 or 6 fawns and one fork horn.
Thick as flies.
