Outdoors thread

My Dad's neighbor has a still in his machine shed and makes custom ones for people as his hobby. Best part is the dude is a retired US Marshall, love everything about him.

Also @Huskerbuck85 my Dad texted me today a pic of his first fly rod catch from his dock. He said the hardest part was getting my mom to come down to the dock and take the picture. lol

That is awesome! Bet he had a blast.

Apparently his fly rod was cucked today by an old school children-esk bobber and worm.

Said he would be mad but anytime he can kill a Carp is good.

I used to catch carp on a flyrod in the creek behind parents house. That was fun. Tell him to try a prince nymph if the carp are plentiful. He'll still catch bluegill.

I’ll tell him cuz apparently today after that little baby bluegill he was shutout on the fly rod.

My uncle caught 4 and my Dad’s 2nd pole with the bobber caught that carp.

My Dad is pretty butt hurt right now, I see in the pic him mixing scotch and diet squirt in the big Daylight Donuts mug so you know he is down bad.

If they just want to catch bluegill the more shiny and obnoxious the better. Bright orange/pink scud preferably with flash in it. Something like this. Should be able to find anywhere flies are sold.

The fly in the upper left looks very similar to what I was using. Just ordered wooly buggers in an attempt to catch crappie

Wooly's work good for bass too. They're also by far the easiest to tie too.
We’ve got decent bass going into yr 3 now on the pond. I’ve got to learn a better tying methods unless there are none. I used the polymer knot but the flies were so tiny that it’s a pain.
