Offensive Coordinator

Dylan has largely been good so I hope people don’t take me re-posting some of this as “Dylan Sucks” - that isn’t what I’m saying at all (and isn’t what you’re saying either).

I’m more so reposting it because I think people are looking at the final score and saying “the OC stinks!” But when you’re playing with a Freshman QB you have to just know there’s going to be missed opportunities as he grows.

If he hits 2 of the throws in question and we score 31 points people would be on here saying it’s the best game Satterfield has ever called. The reason I want to post this stuff is to show that we’re actually not as “far away” as it may seem from having a pretty good offense despite our glaring deficiencies with perimeter blocking and lack of explosion at both RB and WR.

Between Dylan having another year of experience and what will hopefully be a talent upgrade at the skill positions in the offseason I am hopeful that we make a big jump next year on offense. OL will have a lot to say about that though.
Honestly once the emotions wear off, I am pretty damn happy.

That was a damn good response to adversity. That's what we've been asking for.

Do it again against UCLAbia and get that bowl monkey the fuck off our back.

I'll probably get killed for this, but I thought Sean Lewis was a stud. I know Deion and him seemed to be at odds, but he was pretty good at Kent State and I actually liked what he did at Colorado. Just seemed that Shaduer just didn't listen.

He would be great, but I don’t see him leaving a HC gig at SDSU after 1 season.

He’s currently making $625k/year. We could easily more than double that.

He’s gone 2-10 and 2-10 in his first two seasons and is currently 2-6 so I can’t imagine Akron will be heartbroken if he left. Mostly would come down to how much Moorhead favors being a HC vs an OC.
I think he's more of a Chip Kelly type dude personally. Not a big fan of the limelight.

Sean Lewis is a great play caller, but he runs a ton of bubble screens and quick perimeter game to extend the run game. I’m not saying this to pick on you specifically, I just think its funny that multiple people will call for someone like Lewis and then he’d come in and run a bunch of RB and WR screens and people would be freaking out again.

Yup. It’s the second highest point total OSU has given up all season long and the lowest point total they’ve scored in a game all season. We played great. The biggest thing is just preparing the same way this week with the same level of effort against UCLAbia and every game beyond that. If we do that I’m willing to bet we will be playing in a fun bowl game to end the year and I’ll be extremely happy for our seniors to finally do that.

If he can call them and get it coached so they work.... fine with me. If a successful screen game is part of our successful future offense - do what works.

Oh I agree completely, if it works we could snap it to Dylan and have him do cartwheels the whole way down the field into the end zone for all I care.

Just saying schematically watching for people call for a “new” OC the is heavily reliant on RB and WR screens just because they don’t like all the screen plays the current OC runs is pretty funny
