You say that, but this thread was a bit dramatic. There's so much stuff that matters related to the program to scrutinize right now, I just don't know why you're worried about the words of an irrelevant figurehead old man.
He's hardly irrelevant. He was intimately involved in keeping Frost employed here when he should've been fired last year. As long as he's alive and kicking he still has the ability to damage the program and has proven over the years how effective he is at that.

Can you elaborate on how exactly he saved Frost's job?

I felt Riley inherited a much more Hollow Roster and did so much more. Bo looked much better when he had Bill Callahan's recruits and the last few years Bo's staff wasn't recruiting at a level we needed. Poor player evaluations and not enough effort in recruiting. We had 3 Walk Ons starting on the O Line because of Bo's shitty recruiting plus Riley's staff didn't have the advantage of the Transfer Portal or NIL.
I wont argue HCMR had a hollow roster because Bo was basically dead man walking toward the end. Bo still left more talent than HCMR did IYAM.

Under threat of what?
I think the point was TO is the one that told the boosters to pull their money if they fire Frost. It's probably one of the least believable parts of this story.

What is believable is them asking TO what he thought. TO being close to Frost obviously making him a Frost homer encouraged to keep him.
