So much we still don't know about the human body/brain. Being gay for instance. How much of that is nature vs nurture? I think we all know people where nature was 100% the reason i.e. they were born gay.
At the end of the day I don't really care. Sports is such a small part of life in the whole scheme of things. It just gets accentuated when it gets to this level of competition. I can't say I wouldn't care if a boy dresses up as a girl and destroys my daughter at tennis either.
Again I agree. People should be able to dress how they want and live the life they think fits them as long as it doesn't endanger other people. How people dress and identify has zero to do with me or anyone else. Jerry asking to be called Jane moving forward and wanting to wear a skirt doesn't affect me at all.
I think this situation with the swimmer is mostly fucked for a number of reasons. The main reason being an adult man and arguably accomplished swimmer transitioned and then swam against women. There's an obvious and unfair physical advantage there. On the other hand, it does take a lot of courage to transition because it's still a taboo thing to do. People are giant assholes about it and they have to take that right on the chin. There's no way that someone would choose to go through all of that for nothing more than athletic glory. Zero percent chance. And you also have the other women they're competing against who are put in a tough spot. It's fucked 8 ways from Sunday. They probably shouldn't be competing but they probably shouldn't get shit on as hard as people are shitting on them.
