Breaking Fong bomb 1/9

Yant stands in his own way and there is a mental barrier there. Unless he overcomes that he probably won't be a factor in the future. This wasn't on Held mismanagement.

One situation I recall Yant was supposed to to be fully dressed and doing non contact team installs, RB drills, and light conditioning in other segments. He walked out to practice in street clothes. He walked over to the trainers to 'check in', he then walked away looking pissed. He stood around for a while before Ron Brown came down and talked to him. I overheard that conversation, that's when I became a bigger Ron Brown fan. He had a way to connect to him and got him doing what he was supposed to do.
I’m sure he’s the only player on the team that has done that

99 percent of the time this is correct. I truly believe the coaching and play calling was so bad it handcuffed everything. Personal decisions were baffling all year long

I happen to agree with you here. Depending on who is hired at RB coach, I suspect that they'll be managed (and hopefully developed) better. Some of our gaffes overall were so simple minded it looked like a middle school team at times.

You think the players forgot how to play from high school?

There’s a lot of blind nutting the last few days over orphans
Casey Thompson - worth being excited over
Trey Palmer - worth being excited over
Deondre Jackson - serious "meh"

We all understand that you hate Frost and think he is a terrible coach. But that doesn't mean that everything he does is terrible. He has made some good moves this off-season. It's ok to admit that.

I think Nebraska lacks player development in certain areas - mainly offense; which makes it appear that way at times. It's not black and white.

For instance, Cockeye does a good job developing players, but their 6' 11" starting QB was an anomaly in that category. Meanwhile, on the offensive side of the ball we struggle to develop talent from my perspective. Martinez seemed to have regressed from when he was a freshman.

I believe it was @Baron Winnebago that said Frost has to have basically a perfect offseason to set himself up to keep his job beyond 2022. I think arguments can be made that Frost is close to being on that track. Still a ways to go.

Guys,

We need to add a RB. If it's this guy then so be it. Beggars can't be choosers.

Right now we have:

An average guy who couldn't finish the year... Rahmir

A guy who transfered in and did nothing....Stepp

A guy who was fat for fall camp, tripped over his toenail on the one and didn't wanna go in to another game....Yant

A guy who was below average then blew his knee...Ervin

A guy who is Brody Belt

A freshman that wasn't really recruited much....Johnson.

Held's fault? Yes, for lots of reasons. It can be true that the usage was messed up and all the guys there to use sucked at the same time. Both of those situations are his fault.

He has had a very good off-season. But the Raiola hire scares me. He may work out, but we have nothing to base that on. Also, the loss of Tuioti is a major blow. Applewhite as an RB coach also isn't my favorite hire. He is an improvement...but far from lighting the world on fire.

I don’t think it’ll be Applewhite anymore.

Still would rather have Ky Thomas. Supposedly we had a lot of connections to potentially land him...

You guys have no idea if these players will be good here. There’s ALWAYS a reason players transfer with a handful of outliers

Drop a nug like that without saying what was said in the convo? Go on…

You act like all transfers are rejects. How’d Wandale do after transferring?

LSU took Ohio State’s “reject” transfer QB a few years back. How’d that work for them?

Outliers like I said. Keep sucking down that cool aid
