Let’s be honest that offense was a mess and had no identity. You could tell Beck wanted to go more spread but Bo was handcuffing him to be more traditional. If I had to guess it would look closer to Bo/Beck offense.

If he is actually considered by Turd I am giving up whatever morsels of hope I have for this program. You cannot tell me that someone with this resume would actually be considered for a blue blood B1G program.Man, I do not understand the argument for Monken at all, other than he's the living embodiment of run the damn ball.
He's another non-P5 guy and his record is a bit of a mirage. The schedule that program plays is dog shit -- 8 regular season wins last year vs Ga St, Western Kentucky, UConn, Miami (the other one), Air Force, Bucknell, UMass, Liberty.
We just experimented with a guy with a much better G5 calling card and that tanked. I get that Army has lots of impediments, but that was also the argument in favor of Riley, which didn't work out either.
If we can't find a better name with all of this B1G cash, we should just pack it in.

Yeah, I’m also curious how the transition from service academy player discipline to Nebraska would transfer. The guy has out performed everywhere he’s gone so I have no doubt he’s a good coach but I don’t think it would be a quick success here and I feel like the next move after hiring the legacy and seeing it fail over five seasons is to say “fuck it, let’s hire Urban Meyer”. Or someone along those lines.
I don’t get why their raises have to be by the millions. All of college football needs to get on the same page and get to having quarterly reviews and be offering $.10/hr, $.25/hr or $3/hr cost of living raises.Hello Mike Gundy, This is Turd... I see you are making 5 million at OSU and have reached a ceiling there. I would like to offer you 10 million to come coach at Nebraska... Where do I need to send the paperwork?
I agree NIL is a game changer that can help get us back with the right coach who can recruit and develop. That guy isn’t Frost.Yes Frost played a role when he got here that most recruits were in diapers the last time Nebraska had national success. Completely his fault.
I would put the ceiling of recruiting similar to what it was when he got here.. Maybe a touch lower, but ballpark IYAM... The big reason for this is NIL.
We have no talent lolI am not sure WTF to predict. There are so many fucking unkonwns....they have talent, but a lot of unkonwns (OL, Fidone, Safety, Praying Nick and Luke stay healthy)
FWIW I am not saying I would be excited about Monken nor he would be my first pick. I do think he is a solid coach and has some characteristics that I I have been told Turd will value in a decision though. I have had 2 of my contacts tell me he would be in the running. Turd's kid was a West Point grad and Turd has been to a handful of Army football games... Why do you think their OC was getting looks from us?TC and Faux appear to have very good reason to think he's on the short list. But what is the rationale from an administration POV? Other than trying to satisfy a certain sort of person by hiring a guy that appears to be allergic to the forward pass, I guess?
it's really hard to see an argument that a program at (what) our level (should be), with the resources at our disposal, and with realignment making it one of an increasingly small number of jobs that actually matter in this business, that this is the kind of coach we should be aiming for.
Feels incredibly small-minded and small "c" conservative..
I would love to agree with you Cash about the recruiting, but it doesn't do anybody any good for us to both be wrong here.I agree NIL is a game changer that can help get us back with the right coach who can recruit and develop. That guy isn’t Frost.
Should just get rid of the football and wrestling program and get into hockey IYAMWe have no talent lol
My tinfoil hat take is that there is a pro frost contingent of folks "in the know" who leak out totally unfuckable replacement candidates to try to insulate their boy from his upcoming 4-8 campaignI’m starting to think this board is ground zero for trolling our own fanbase
-nobody likes Casey/prefer Chubba
-Turd wants to hire Monken
Cmon
This is horseshit
If things go sideways this season & Frost isn’t back, you have to assume Matt Rhule will be available. That’s who you make a run at bc pretty much all the big jobs came open last year. Of schools with a lot of $ & tradition only Auburn seems likely to come open.
Or you could completely pull a seat up to the Big Boy table & just offer Urbs 15 million
Lol
Monken
So we are going to be making 100 million per year in Revenue & hire a guy for maybe 2 million per yr who not even Kansas wanted
The troll went too far here…
Frost isn’t recruiting close to a level to win championships. I agree he has done pretty well considering how shitty the product has been. Callahan was on to his way of having one of the best recruiting classes in Nebraska history until he was fired.
The cover 3 guys have a formula on teams who have a legit shot at winning a natty. You need more 4-5 stars than 2-3 stars over a 4 year period or you have absolutely no shot. The only team who about crashed that formula was Oregon with Mariota. I also get you need development but teams like Wisconsin or Cockeyes will never win a natty because they don’t recruit well enough. At this point championship talk probably shouldn’t even matter because most Nebraska fans would cream their pants for 9 wins and a decent bowl game.
With the schedule this year there is no reason we can’t win 8-9 games. That would be a good start.I think this narrative is silly. Nebraska needs to consistently go 9-3 before anyone should worry about recruiting at a National Championship level.
Frost can't recruit better because he loses so much.I think this narrative is silly. Nebraska needs to consistently go 9-3 before anyone should worry about recruiting at a National Championship level.
