That’s how I see it. I don’t see him leaving for another rebuild unless he is holding a big grudge with Calipari. We also aren’t going to pay him a lot more money even if we go hard at him.

Not my first choice but I would be happy with this hire. Seems to make the most sense. Would keep the Husker Traditionalists happy as he could keep Mickey & Busch.

$9.5 Mill/year with $5 Mill for Asst's
Nov 8th so time to recruit & assemble staff plus be the first splash hire thus getting lots of national publicity

Stoops would be amazing, but he's definitely not a $5.5 million + incentives guy.
Has an amazing contract now - $6.75 million this year with $250,000 raises each year until 2028. And his contract is automatically extended by 1 year for an additional $250K each year if he wins 7 and 2 years if he wins 10.

I will give a small pass to these private academic school guys. With the transfer portal being such a big part of the game now they can't get transfers in but it's easy to transfer out.
Scenario: "Hey really good RB from Stanford/GaTech/Northwestern/Vandy etc etc want to continue to have to actually work hard in class or want to come transfer to Bama/OU/UCLA/Ohio St etc etc and just be a football player?
Scenario #2: Player: "I want to transfer to Stanford" Stanford: "Sorry you do not qualify, we don't give a shit how you may help the football team"
