Yard Care

Was in the local garden center (in business for 75 years) when I was back home, thought of you guys.

What does mouse trap Monday on YouTube think of that?

Update on my voles (aka field mice way different than moles)

I put poison down all their holes, filled the holes with dirt and put down the vole repellent pellets (anctive ingredient caster oil) about a month ago. Haven’t seen a vole hole in my yard since.

Had to trim up some trees today.

Going to hit me a Father’s Day mow this morning. Will post results if I remember. Very happy so far this year heading into the 2nd quarter. Grass pad did my team wonders in spring ball and fall camp.

I'm literally the only person in my neighborhood who does this and they look at me like I'm crazy
I've always been trim first. I thought that was just the way it was done until recently seeing that there are a lot of mow first folks out there.

Mulching or Bagging? I usually bag. I don't get many leaves in the fall so I will mulch up the ones I do.

Mow, edge then trim. I prefer to trim last so I can get anything that might have been missed from the mow or edging.

I've always been a trim, mow, edge guy... Trim first so the mower gets the trimmings, edge last as it usually looks cleaner since you're edging mowed grass. I also blow everything I trim before I mow to get any grass out of the landscaping and back into the yard be picked up by the mower. Blow again after edging so I can put it all on my neighbor's grass to the south since he's an asshole... 😁

I mow every 3 to 4 days so what I have to trim isn’t long enough to worry about cleaning it up with a mower. I use the blower to redistribute anything that gets in the landscaping.

We’ve had damn near 30 inches of rain the past 3 months. It’s been hell.
Garden is a 1/4 of an acre and pretty much everything has root rot.
Yard is growing like crazy but never dries out. Clumping like crazy inside the zero turn.
Plus side we planted 6 apple, 6 peach and 3 plum bars root trees this year.

They’ve taken off like crazy
