Ok…We had every opportunity to get a player like that and we recruited the one and only Jeff Sims. I’m not sure how that’s not a huge red flag to folks. These guys have no clue what they are looking for in a player because the offense has no identity. It’s just a rag tag group of coaches and players with the only stated goal being they want to rush for 75yards in the 4th quarter.

Open your eyes people, we are the get right game for the rest of the conference. Bottom dwellers.,
I think Rhule’s idea that a ball control offense can win a B1G championship with classes in the 20-30 range is a decade late to the party.

Exactly! We used to be innovators at Nebraska. We are now a bunch of has beens 3 steps behind everyone else. It’s sad.

There is still no reason we can’t be a K-State-Utah quality program. I doubt we ever do any real damage again unless it’s a special year.

I think it’s less likely with the SEC and B1G moving the way they are.

More quality competition means a more difficult path to average.

I’d trade a flashy innovative offense for one with about 6 basic plays. Every play can be run out of multiple formations and blocked multiple ways, giving you about 40 different plays built off your basic 6. Then have an OC who understands his team’s ability, understands how those play compliment one another, and understands timing.

I don’t disagree at all but unfortunately we don’t even remotely have that.

There’s zero reason we can’t.
Besides for the fact that we don’t have anywhere near the coaching staffs of those teams. They’ve taken 20 years to pass us by, why can we all of a sudden change course and pass them? WE ARE A BOTTOM DWELLER

Please name a player available in the portal that was anything like Taulia that would have reasonably came to Nebraska.

Thanks.

I don't agree with Alcaus's take but are we really going to pretend Michigan's classes are in the 20-30 range?
I admittedly went too quick and only read the first half. However, it's quite shortsighted to act as if Rhule and Co plan on only recruiting in that range. In fact, I think they've shown a penchant so far for shooting for the moon and then filling in the gaps with diamonds in the rough. As the wins come in, they won't have the same miss rate on those shoot for the moon types.

blocked multiple ways,
That Sucks The Office GIF

I thought I’d read Osborne’s offense was a relatively small amount of plays run out of different formations and blocked differently? Did I make up the blocked differently part?

You could probably better explain what I’m trying to explain. I like the idea of variety without being complex. Something repeatable you can build off for our players but complex for defenses is very appealing and timeless.

Well for starters, all they had to do was not run off Casey Thompson. Otherwise, you are probably right, these coaches can’t attract anyone dynamic because they STINK

K.

Why do you spend the time then?
Because Nebraska football is a sickness you can’t quit.

I don’t understand the Casey narrative. He wasn’t able to participate in Spring ball. I don’t think this staff wanted a one-year mercenary, hence why they went after a portal QB that had two years left.

So the answer was Jeff fucking Sims? They could have let Casey compete, you know like they claim to be so big on. It’s the biggest red flag by far to this point.
