I live 2 miles north of the Kansas/Nebraska line. Dead center of I-70 and I-80, highway 14 goes north/south through my town. Pretty much the garden of... Nothing!

We used to go to Otter Tail when I was a 10 yo kid (1962). Wish I could remember it but I know there was usually a lot of Wallys caught.Just got back from Otter Tail yesterday. Didn't fish Otter Tail much because their ramps suck and buddy just had a small boat. Found the lake we should have been fishing on the whole time the last day. Lots of cool lakes in that area though. Would like to get there in late May some year.
Crazy…..didn’t see this when I posted my memories of Otter Tail.Haven't been to Otter Tail since ... 1966. Not kidding. I have fond memories of that family vacation, though.
Stop by on the way home and I’ll buy you a beer…😎🍺✊Have a new hunt to look forward to in October (pending wife’s approval as we will have 2 kids under 2 and I already have a 5 day bow hunt scheduled that month).
After 5 years of putting in, finally drew a rifle antelope buck tag for Nebraska. Harrison here I come! Failed on elk draw again, but one of these years…
The zebra mussels make it tough. The water is so clear the weeds grow thick and tall and the walleye sit in those weeds. Tough to fish them beyond early June. The other issue is they filter everything out of the water. Less for little fish to eat so less little fish for big fish to eat.We used to go to Otter Tail when I was a 10 yo kid (1962). Wish I could remember it but I know there was usually a lot of Wallys caught.

Bitter lake is great for eater walleyes. Enemy swim is easy to fish for smallies. How close are they? Are they a quick trip for you? I've lived in eastern SD for over six years where I hear there are great fishing opportunities, but haven't been out yet. 🙁

Couple Friday's ago at the Montgomery County Cockeyes DU banquet, I won a 12ga Weatherby AND a 20ga Franchi.
So, I got that going for me...
Jealous. I never win shit at things like that.
Yeah, two years ago(no banquet last year due to Covid) I won a Henry .44 mag.The only thing I’ve ever won from DU or Pheasants is about 10 spam emails every week for the past 8 years….
I've peeled A LOT of fish, crappie and walleye, at Kirwin and Glenn Elder. Love it down there.Lovewell tonight. I fish at Waconda (Glenn Elder) or Kirwin also. All north central Kansas lakes.
Where do you live Lee?I've peeled A LOT of fish, crappie and walleye, at Kirwin and Glenn Elder. Love it down there.
In Dallas now. Haven't been to Kirwin or Glenn Elder in years, unfortunately.Where do you live Lee?
Glen Elder used to be the site of the annual BushAK family vacation. We’d hire a guide for two days to go cat fishing over barrels of fermented soybeans. The lake is a lot of fun when the gar are spawning along the rocks.

Our pads are 4” thick, very comfortable. You can bring whatever when you’re car camping. To each their own but for me. Fuck that. Give me at least a couch to sleep on.
Beautiful spot though. Were you the only ones there or were there tents all around you?
