OT—cooking thread

I recently discovered Kinders. Their buttery steakhouse seasoning has become a go to for me, rock solid and very versatile

If you've got a memberhsip, Sam's Club has Kinder's for cheaper than most places, $4.98 for the larger canisters. And if you don't have a membership, get one lol. It's $45 to join, but they have a promo where you get a $45 gift card back, so it's basically free. They run this offer all the time, so next year just turn off auto-renewal and let it expire, and then search for the current coupon link and sign up again with a different email address.

Amazon product ASIN B0851FJM4D
Has anyone bought one of these? I saw one in HyVee and my buddy just bought one. If this thing regulates the temp well, I would definitely buy this in the future over a pellet grill again.

Char-Griller has one that's the same idea as those, but the reviews I've seen say it's better built overall than Masterbuilt. I've definitely had my eye on one...

I bought a rectec 3-4 years ago. The thing I love about it is the 40 pound hopper. It’s a very good pellet grill. I also have a griddle grill from char-griller, so I won’t be getting another grill for awhile, but when I do, I will go to something like the charcoal one with a hopper if they work the way they are suppose to.

I’ll check it out. I'm kind of a seasonings whore. I could fill up a pantry with seasonings and rubs and then I like to make my own too.
You take a fork and poke holes in your steak on both sides and throw the marinade on and then season with the seasoning. It has a pretty good flavor. An old wallpaper guy who grilled all the time on the road and swore by it told me to try it, so I did and I’ve been using it ever since.

The pickled mango on the side is the only thing that would probably give you diarrhea.

PS: omeprazole prior = never have to worry about heartburn

Tried omeprazole once...broke out in a dry rash from head to toe. Was a big time bummer. Now I just dive in and knowingly accept the consequences of my dietary decisions, reflux be damned.

Burgers tonight

Burgers aren't anything special. Just used the kinders seasoning I enjoy.

Stuffed pepper is an Anaheim pepper with cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Tony Chachere’s Original Creole Seasoning and grilled. 🔥 one of my favorites.

Beans were smoked from yesterday. Bush's, chopped green bell, red devil hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce mustard, BBQ seasoning, molasses and smoked the fuck out of them. Again a favorite of mine.

Store bought potato salad and boxed pasta salad.

Basically 4th of July 🇺🇸

Any good tips or recipes for burnt ends?

I just smoke a whole brisket like normal until about the point where the temperature has stalled and you're about ready to wrap it. Cut the point and flat apart, wrap the flat and continue cooking it like normal. Cut the point into cubes, toss them in whatever sauce you prefer (and maybe some rub), then put them back on the smoker. (If you cut them so small that they might fall through the grate, put them in a veggie basket.)

I cook for a living, and love to do it at home as well. BBQ is my favorite thing to do on my days off, nothing better than sitting on the patio drinking bourbon misting a pork butt all day. Did a smoked bacon wrapped mac n cheese stuffed meatloaf last week when it was nice out. Was a fun experiment 20200903_181358.jpg
