NU President Ted Carter On Frost

If you want to listen to some absolute bullshit this morning, take this in. Talk about battered wife syndrome from Benning. Saying Frost just needs to make a few small changes and things will be better. He also has the gall to say he doesn't want to see the university pay out $20 million like it's coming out of his pockets.

At least Severe can see that the end is near...

I mean I think the economics of it could be a concern especially if Turd and co were asleep at the wheel with the possibility Frost could flame out this spectacularly

I'm a bit surprised to hear that out of Benning, actually

My guess is that Frost's contract gets restructured and the buyout goes down.
I’m guessing Frost would be amenable to that. Then he gets one more year to win or he gets the axe.

The bigger economic issue will be when the stadium is half full next year while Frost trudges to another 4-8 record.
Probably, but if you can't raise the cash to fire him and hire a competent staff, you don't really have a choice. Firing Frost is worth doing for me because it's not going to get better and even if you have to stretch your money to hire the next guy, you can't let Frost for 15 months more of damage to the football program

I really wonder how much money is at risk with the new facilities with a coaching change. They basically engineered that to Frost+Duval's specifications. Certainly a factor in the total costs of termination.

I think that's much more likely than him getting fired. Turd ain't going to break up the 90s party.

The downside of reducing the buyout in exchange for another year is that it will kill recruiting for another few years. Pretty much going to set the new coach up with a much worse situation than Frost inherited in 2017/18. Essentially a lighter version of a self-imposed death penalty.

Keeping Frost without fully committing to him is the worst case scenario. I would hate to see him retained, but if you do it, you keep him and probably slap on an "extension" for the headline without increasing the buyout he'd be owed if he was fired after next season. And then open up the checkbook for the best assistants you can get to come here. Again, he's done absolutely nothing to deserve to be retained, but you can't keep him unless you're going to commit to the idea that he could work out. Which to be totally clear is a fucking stupid idea.

Leave it to Nebraska to F this up. Beyond stupid. Just pull the plug.

Benning must have gotten a call from TO... followed up by Gerrod and the boys... what a crap show.

Does Benning have a relationship with Alberts?

Jeezus, maybe the bagman should be paying higher end recruits more to play football here vice paying the local media to keep the Frosty tips.

I've been reading a few Husker pages on Facebook recently and the overwhelming amount of comments seem to be in favor of giving Frost more time.

Alberts is gonna be in a really tough spot at the end of the season.
