It's a grade on overall performance, not performance relative to expectations

I could think 6 wins is pathetic at Nebraska and deserving of a D grade
I could also predict the team is going to go 5-7
When they go 6-6, that doesn't change the fact I think 6 wins are pathetic at Nebraska and worth a D grade, even though the team exceeded my (low) expectations
Are these the official rules of the grading system?

If 6 wins is a D. What's a C? Would they have needed 11 to be an A?

They're not rules, this is just how grading performance works
You gotta be a special kind of retard to say "we did really poorly, but I need to grade coach as average or better because he did 1 win better than my rock bottom preseason expectations"

What's an A? What's an F?

Kind of sounds like.

0- 5 wins F
6 = D
7-8 = C
9-10 = B
11-12 = A

Mine has expectations built in. Kind of like grading a paper at MIT vs Nebraska.

0-3 = F
4-5 = D
6-7 = C
8-9 = B
10+ = A
Natty A+

I graded relative to expectations and state of the program because no other way really makes sense.

If someone walks into a toilet program and gets 8 wins, they build him a statue. Might be coach of the year candidate. If Bama does that coming off of the Saban run, they might fire their coach.

6 wins is not an acceptable ongoing standard at Nebraska, but relative to where we've been, it's a step we haven't made in almost a decade.

My rock bottom expectations was 4 wins. My high expectations was 8.

You have to be a special kind of retard to grade Rhule the same as if he had Georgia's roster. Does Kirby win 10 with this team?

Kirby pry wins 8 or 9 because he's not a retard and wouldn't make retard hires. Hth gbr

This is a completely different argument than the one we're having

It can't possibly be this difficult
If someone has really high personal expectations in the preseason - they think Nebraska is going to go anywhere from 7-5 to 11-1 - and it turns out the team goes 8-4...that doesn't mean that person needs to grade Rhule as a C or below because he performed "below average" relative to their personal preseason expectations.

Similarly, Choc had really low expectations preseason for Nebraska. Lower than most. Rhule met his low preseason expectations. That doesn't mean Choc has to grade his performance as average or better.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever

You guys just seem so sure of your grading scale and everyone else not on it is an idiot. I'm just trying to figure out what your grading scale is. It seems very complicated.

I wanted to see them get to at least 6 wins. Had to make a bowl to continue progressing. I'm not any more optimistic at Rhule being the answer now than I was before the season. I still think it's possible pending changes working out. I.e. Dana and the progression of Raiola.

I don't think anyone with a straight face was predicting a possibility of 11 wins. I'd hope not anyway.

6 wins gets Rhule to another year. It in no way out performed what was possible. Therefore a C. Good enough to pass. Middle of the class result.

I think you just have to accept the fact that @Mavsker has avenged his bodying over his Russian brother and has owned you in this argument.

I was never arguing in the first place. I'm just trying to figure out what your grading scale is based on.

You guys are the ones telling people they're idiots for grading above a D.

B-

If he would have made better decisions before taking the job probably could inch higher to a B or B+. Satterfield has always been what he was, these last two years just unfortunately validated it. I'm not mad about the Foley hire, just didn't know it would go that bad. White who was the only one Rhule didn't have a previous coordinator experience with is the best hire on that level which is interesting.
