I like Rhule as a CEO head coach. My disappointment with him has been not bringing in big guy assistants and have too many young assistants that he has to develop. NU is paying to be at the top not a super slow burn and the B1G is a much higher hill to climb compared to his prior stops. Bringing Dana in was a big boy move. I hope the assistants that are younger be moved back as assistants to more tenured assistants that can execute in coaching, developing and recruiting right now. I don’t know how STs can be so bad in year two. With a highly paid ST coach that can’t happen again. We’re paying to have a solid to great STs. The RB room needs major fat trimming.

Rhule did handicap himself by not turning over more of the roster however it seems he will do that now. They are building depth and potential future players with the younger players coming up but need a talent infusion at the upperclassmen level. They are going to have to be aggressive with top transfers to make a step next season. With the amount of younger developing players it seems like they would be looking at the 2026 season to make a run as the younger players become upperclassman.

Overall they were competitive in all the games except Indiana however the amount of close losses were underachieving. Next year he needs to take a big step and I think they will with Dana as OC, he will make changes to assistants that should be much better. C

I think Rhule is going to be ruthless this offseason and I’m looking forward to it

Upgrade the staff, he’s forced to cull the roster so he has cover to get rid of dead weight, and this Cockeye bullshit is going to push him over the edge into doing whatever needs to be done to win

He’s giving that vibe. I think he’s seeing how good the coaching is in the B1G compared to his other stops. It is extremely ruthless in the B1G and SEC. What’s frustrating as a fan is the money is there to be a big time, big boy program so let’s do it.

Time will tell. Rhule seems to hinder himself through some sort of confirmation bias. If he ends up making changes only to bring in assistants that other top programs would never hire (based upon their ties to Nebraska, ties to him, etc.), then we should already know how it will end up.

I’m betting on the AD Dannon to push him to make the right moves. I think that’s what pushed him to Dana but could be wrong. 🤞

Let's hear it
I voted a “C”, he is on track from previous years at his other stops. Now his recruiting is the best we’ve had since Callahan IMO. HCMR definitely has to upgrade his coaching staff at multiple spots this off-season.
