I generally give people the benefit of the doubt. I don’t immediately conclude that people make shitty choices on purpose.

However, there was a guy on the field who was being given CPR and the NFL wanted to wait 5 and go? I’m hoping that they didn’t understand the severity of Damar’s condition. But this really doesn’t look good.

I get not wanting to give Goodell the benefit of the doubt, but my view is that standard operating procedure kicked in and the league was trying to get as much information as possible as quickly as possible to make the right decision.

Obviously they ended up in the correct place, but they have standard procedures in place that they don't deviate from until it isn't standard.

Just in general if you need CPR and defibrillation, <12% of survival if you’re outside of a hospital.

Let’s assume he pulls through in the next 12 hours, what does recovery and treatment look like for him?

Depends how badly and for how long his brain was deprived of oxygen.

It’s never good, but people come back from it.

Will need immediate surgery, but as long as you get the oxygen and the blood flow going, people still have a chance.

Not sure what surgery you’d get for this particular situation.
