And no matter how they handle it, I'm sure there won't be buy-in from everyone.

In fact, there will be criticism when the focus should be on the player, his family, and moving forward.

That was my read as well. The way he stood up makes me think it isn’t a primary neurologic insult. CPR is obviously not 100% efficient so he could have a secondary hypoxia/anoxic brain injury. It is possible to come off of the ventilator generally speaking (obviously), it just depends on the nature and severity of the underlying cause.

Making several assumptions here but he was probably in the absolute best place to survive. Medical personnel there immediately, very likely had an AED.

I'd encourage anyone on here to do so too. There's very little we can truly do to support the guy in arguably the most tragic football moment of many of our lifetimes. This is one way to tangibly show support.
