I think Thompson could come in and add some legit competition in the QB room. He has experience which is great but I don't think he's going to come in here and just walk all over Smothers. Steve Sarkisian is probably one of the best QB coaches in the nation and he couldn't turn him into a winning QB. Texas had a lot of problems this year though.
