Is he our guy?

247 is discussing it.

What are the insidehers hearing?

I'm sure we'd take him. Only hope is if Whipple has an Ace up his sleeve. They are definitely trying but it is difficult to sell the benefits of the product we have been putting on the field the last 4 years. But Whipple has had recent success.

the 247 mouth breathers are having a field day off a tweet some guy with less than 20 followers put out. said they had it on good authority he visited and liked it.... even though we are currently in the dead period which started last week 🤦‍♂️
Is there a dead period for transfers?

Yea, they thought the Tweet was about something an Oklahoma guy said, but the Tweet was to the Oklahoma guy.

Why? There isn’t much sample size. I’m not saying he couldn’t be good here, but what makes you think he will be the answer?

He’s an experienced P5 QB that played well in large environments.

Also, one thing that appears to be lost on many is that there is usually a substantial jump from first year to second year when it comes to starting QBs.

I think it’s @MtnHusker who is the data nerd here, but one thing that I’ve been thinking a ton about today is attempting to go through the last 10-15 years of Big Ten starting QBs and comparing their stats from their first year starting to their second year to see what might be a good baseline for projected improvement for some of these guys.

It is absolutely reasonable to project improvement from a lot of the kids that started their first year in 21 like the kid from aTm, Thompson, and even the kid from VaTech. How much can you expect them to improve is the question.

To me Slovis was the homerun get for Whipple but that doesn’t matter now.

Casey's dad has an interesting story former OU QB.

Yes, his Dad was on the cover of SI in 1989. Was the beginning of Switzer's downfall and Charles went to jail.

Charles turned his life around. He was an awesome wishbone QB and replaced Jamelle Holieway when Holieway blew out his knee one week before the OU/NU 1 vs 2 game in 1987. We thought we'd get the advantage of facing the backup QB but Thompson was as good as Holieway.
