Auto (lemon) purchase advice

I'm not a mechanic or assassin just grew up without a lot of money and had figure things out on my own or with the help of my grandpa or my great uncle. I've been around cars my whole life and watch a lot of shows about cars too so I've picked up a thing or two along the way. 🤣
My buddy in grad school would do his own brakes and that is a level of self confidence that I'm ok never attaining

I can do that level of stuff if I had to but only on my own cars. I've never really liked working on other people's cars if I could help it.

Rewatching Sons of Anarchy currently. Violence and intimidation look both effective and easy to get away with.

I’m sure you could find some tPB bros to take a walk down to the dealer with you.

I can't believe your wife bought a car at this place, bro. Tf

This place isn't even a lot really, it's like in an industrial park.

I would say the lesson here is always take a used vehicle to a mechanic you trust to get a thorough and honest assessment before purchasing.
When I was trying to buy my first car around 16 yo I saw a nice looking Honda accord at a good price. Guy selling it posted, as the odometer noted , it only had 60k miles on it. Took it to the mechanic my family had always used (while the seller pissed and moaned) turned out the odometer had been rolled back by the first owner and the car had around 200k miles on it and was beat to shit.
