After doing some Facebook stalking, he definitely doesn’t like us giving him bad reviews, as he had his girlfriend give them a positive review on google. We dropped the rating from 4.5 to 4.3.

I reported her review as a conflict of interest.

Those Google reviews are sus at best either 5 Stars or 1 Star. Looks like what happened to the OP is not a one-off -

Hopefully you have a friend you trust who is a mechanic. I always have my bud look at any used car I buy because you never know. Even if the seller doesn’t know there is something wrong, a good mechanic probably will.
