Probably would have started. One of the casualties of the gambling sting. No idea what that means for his eligibility but he's probably fine

This guy (Monds) was one time regarded as a pretty heavy Nebraska lean, wasn't he?
Looks like he was probably a special teams player this year. He played in 11 games and had four tackles and no other stats. Was a redshirt freshman this year.

90 snaps on special teams. 9 snaps on defense.

The discussion from OSU fans is that McCord needs a true qb competition this offseason and the OSU staff loves what they have in Lincoln. If it is truly an open competition I'd find it hard to believe that he'd pass up that opportunity to start brand new at Nebraska and possibly not even be the starter (assuming Nebraska brought in a 1 year guy as well).

That would work well. We should have our one year guy through spring practice and he could slide in between Kaelin and first transfer in the distribution. He likely wouldn’t expect o start first year if he is third or fourth on the OSU depth chart

That's debatable. Ohio St probably had players on their team not playing QB that could have started at Nebraska at QB. Like a 3rd string WR.

To your point though if he's transferring after spring I imagine he wouldn't expect to start right away and be patient enough to wait for rhe starter to get injured or potentially pass him later in the season.

Seems so. Hope it makes for a more reasonable price tag for an average O-lineman

No one could get 3 qbs out of the portal. Even two is difficult.

People transfer to play, not sit on the bench.

Worth mentioning is that Purdy came to sit on the bench behind Casey.

I've kinda felt this is our kind of target. Someone at a lower level looking to prove it on a bigger stage. No idea about this particular player though
