I think the bullets were real bullets too. I was listening to Andy/Ari on On3 and they talked about how good the Cincinnati OL is and is going to be this year.I think they tried it against second and third string and it looked good. Week 1 is to see what you look like against another opponent. Remember, we moved a WR to RB after spring ball and he's our #2. You really don't know what you have until the bullets are flying.
It was as loud or louder than most any game I've been to in Lincoln. I'm convinced we lose that game in Cincinnati. The crowd was a difference maker. To your last paragraph, do you think the crowd was worse at Arrowhead than it would have been in Memorial?
I don't disagree either way, an 8PM home game at Memorial has the fans juiced. I just think it was pretty loud there and pro-Nebraska.
I think Cincy will be good as well. They had a decent OL coupled with a mobile QB, and they had an anchor in the middle on their DL we couldn't move at all. Game 1 to Game 2 jump will help us as well.I think the bullets were real bullets too. Also listened to Matt Vrzal's post-game wrap up and he made a comment that he thinks Cincinnati is going to finish 3rd or 4th in the Big 12. And Vrz has not been an NU sunshine pumper really.
I'm not exclusive Jeudy or anyone else, just saying that that was a legitimate P4 we faced. So the bullets were definitely different than "brother-in-lawing it" in fall camp.
Ya hopefully we wouldn't lose, but that crowd was way into it for us in Arrowhead. The Cincy graphics were weird when you heard how loud the crowd was for the Huskers that's why I don't think it being in Lincoln changes a whole lot. Not sure our players were looking at the jumbotron telling Bearcats fans to get loud as it was quiet for us to snap the ball.It was as loud or louder than most any game I've been to in Lincoln. The crowd was rowdy and even heavily booed their band. Not Nebraska-nice. I did not partake in the band booing and still lost my voice....lol.Ya hopefully we wouldn't lose, but that crowd was way into it for us in Arrowhead. Yeah an old dude scolded me for booing a little bit.The crowd was rowdy and even heavily booed their band. Not Nebraska-nice. I did not partake in the band booing and still lost my voice....lol.
An underrated worry is the blocking we are going to get from TE2 when in heavy sets or 12 personnel. I think losing Markway is a far more crushing loss than we anticipated. Mozee and Nelson both would have had big runs if haarberg and Carter would have gotI think Cincy will be good as well. I just think all of the things we are talking about such as more vertical passing game (no matter the defense), OL getting a better push, DL tightening up, finding an RB2 the other coaches are emphasizing as well since they need to get better. Shoot, Rhule even made mention about the RB situation.
Only week 1 but Michigan was not impressive against a rough New Mexico team.lol New Mexico top two backs averaged 3.6 yards against Michigan’s D
Uh sir. Tpb is for sucking Michigan’s dick and criticizing Nebraska. You must be lostOnly week 1 but Michigan was not impressive against a rough New Mexico team.
There was this 75 year old lady behind me from North Platte, she told her husband during the game when the showed Sorsbey “he’s a cute kid, I hope he breaks his leg” i nearly choked on my beer laughingYeah an old dude scolded me for booing a little bit.
I told him
1. This is arrowhead.
2. Something needs to change, we’ve been getting our ass kicked for 20 years.
RB pissed me off as soon as Dowdell left and we didn't have anybody. I thought Brown would have been a good addition and he looked good for Miami this weekend. The RB room is the one that I just don't get, they very much needed to bring someone in, and when the NDSU guy ended up going elsewhere we just threw up the white flag and moved Mozee there.
DL I feel like we tried to get people here but it's really tough to replace Nash and Ty, I get that. I wish we could have found a guy similar to them in the portal, but they probably are extremely expensive.
Did they stunt Ty and Nash that much? It seemed like they were always moving Jeudy and he looked like a dancing bear at times....just no speed and wasn't very violent. They are trying to have Jeudy do what Robinson/Hutmacher did and he can't do it. RVP is really the only one that could be close.
I don't get how PFF graded him the highest.... He looks the part, but he doesn't stick blocks, he falls down a bunch, he struggles with the bull rush and he cant hold his water causing him to jump.Overall point was they weren't happy with Pritchett at tackle.
I felt like he was close on multiple times......I feel like EJ missed a bunch of chances to break one. He kept staying inside once he broke through but if he cuts outside he is gone
Cincy is probably better thanThis is coping.
They're the 7th or 8th best team on the schedule. They're a middle of the pack big 12 team. That doesn't mean we'll lose 7 games but that team is not good. Not bad but certainly not good.
I am curious how much of that was him being gassed..... Seemed like he wasn't the same player in the 2nd half and I want to say he was pushing high teens as far as touches in the 1st half.I'd agree there. But also part of me wonders if something was drilled in his head all camp and spring of following the blocks. There's some "vision" that needs to be taken into account with elite RBs. While I don't think EJ is elite, I think he could get more yards with "feel".
We’ve always overestimated and overstated our ability to compete on NIL.
Brown is the 3rd string RB for Miami and he is getting more $ than EJ....So much... we are top 40-ish
