The only other thing I’d say is while there are a lot of older guys in the two deep (Teddy, Henry, Heinrich, Luke, Evans, etc) there are a ton of young guys that played also as well as newer guys.
The younger and newer guys I’d expect to continue to develop throughout the season as they continue to gain experience and confidence. The Nwaneri, Pietrzak, McGahee, etc that we see in November will not be the same guys that played on Thursday night. Same thing as the offensive guys - the RB situation will be different come November than August. The WRs will continue to improve, maybe a young TE gets a chance to step into a bigger role and thrives. Everyone forgets the coaches talked about Ives all offseason and then he got hurt - does he emerge come October and give us the big back we desperately need?
There are always players/guys that seemingly come out of nowhere as the season develops. Some get their shot due to matchup, some because the guy ahead of them isn’t performing, some because someone gets hurt, etc.
One thing I do know - this team has a top 20 talent composite rating in the country. There are talented football players on this team and I do believe in our coaches enough for them to continue to learn about our guys strengths and weaknesses and put them in positions to be successful as the season goes on. If the situation looks the same now as it does in November in terms of cohesiveness, lack of options, etc, the criticism will absolutely be warranted. Until then I’m going to withhold saying we’re screwed or going to lose 6 games or whatever. Let’s see how it shakes out and who seizes their opportunity.
