That's pretty much all you can do now. With the way they run HH we will probably need them both and Chubba at some point.

I honestly thought Haarberg looked more than a little hesitant running the ball. I don’t get the sense that he’s a natural runner like Sims but at the same time he’s fast when he commits to it and doesn’t handle the football like it’s been smothered in KY Jelly.

with HH's limitations we are going to struggle against any decent defensive team. Not many more "Rock Fights" that we can win. Maybe Cockeye. Hard to win games when you can't score points. I want to be hard on OC Sat but difficult for me to pass judgement when he inherited a shit show and right now is starting what was our 3rd string QB, 3rd string RB plus is missing 3 of the top 4 WR's from the start of fall camp. But at least our O Line still sucks

Northwestern and Michigan State both also have absolutely dog shit offenses (as bad or worse than us). Running HH out there plus a similar performance from our D as the Illinois games gets us wins there I think.

It’s simple for me. Who has the better talent is obvious.

It is? Please explain.
All I have watched of Sims is his two games at Nebraska. To me, they are the same quarterbask. Fast, good runners who struggle to complete passes. They have very, very similar skillsets, it seems. Sims has a stronger arm, but what difference does it make if he still can't complete deep passes? If there is a talent difference, it's anything but obvious.

I noticed that last week too, he's definitely doing better at going through his progressions. Maybe a small thing, but it's 2023 and a Nebraska QB is actually learning and growing as he goes through a season. That's what we call a baby step!

Sims proved he's the same guy he's always been, but that doesn't mean he can't be an asset down the stretch. HH was already limping at the end of Illinois. Hard to imagine he makes it 6 more games running 15-20 times/game. Have to keep Sims engaged, keep his confidence up, and keep him ready.

Sims needs to get a series in the first half vs. Northwestern where he hears some cheers when he comes out. Rhule should tell folks in next weeks press conference that's going to happen, too. Make sure people know to get behind the kid. Last thing a QB with shaky confidence needs is a smattering of murmurs and boos from the home crowd. And hell, ideally he gets some snaps at the end of the game if we're up enough (big ask).

Sims' talent isn't going to win us games, at least not this year with this offense.

With the remaining schedule, with our defense, the answer to who should play QB is who is going to turn the ball over the least. If we don't turn the ball over and score 2 to 3 TDs, we are going to win a lot of the remaining games.

We don't need to play the QB who is the most talented, we need to play the QB who will fuck up the least, currently that is Haarberg, but not by much.

This is it right here. The cold hard truth is in that last sentence. You don’t have to like it, but there it is.
