Speaking of that, Sam Keller should be in this discussion imoI don't get the Joe Ganz references. He wasn't a highly regarded recruit, was underrated in the fact he should have started over Sam Keller in 2007 (coincidentally, a HIGHLY overrated QB) and was a very efficient QB as a senior starter in 2008.
He was a good QB. Not great, but I've never heard anyone call him that.
Can you still be overrated if you suck? Overrated coming in for sure. Another player like that which comes to mind - Cody GreenSpeaking of that, Sam Keller should be in this discussion imo
Charlie McBride called him the best DT he ever coached.Jason Peter- played sparingly his senior year and was drafted early off of roids and opioids.
IMO Nate Swift is a top 5 WR at Nebraska all-time. There's a hot take.I think Nate Swift was twice the player Davison was
Agree.IMO Nate Swift is a top 5 WR at Nebraska all-time. There's a hot take.
He's always first to pop up in my mind. Couldn't understand why he would seemingly trip over thin air in the back field every handful of plays.Marlon Lucky
Yup, I lived in the ATL from 91-96 and you heard a lot of anti-Husker crowing only because he was a big bust (and we were on a bowl losing streak, lost to GT, etc). Only when we started our run in 93 did the natives stop giving me grief.
A defensive tackle who "should have won the Heisman" was overrated? That is a hot take! hahaFarley was a game changer. I remember someone on those teams saying he was a horrible practice player, but absolutely flipped a switch when the bright lights came on. I loved watching him play.
My heretical Nebraska take is that Suh was slightly overrated. A great player who should have won the Heisman, but piled up stats in a couple games, and dominated McCoy & Texas so memorably that people think he was that dominant every game. More a case of the folklore getting swept away than any real negatives about him.
I guess I applaud you for having the balls to put this out there as I'd be surprised if anyone agreed with you. But your last sentence I've quoted here is a Rufus level take.
He's on ON3 and posts occasionally.Rufus? Haven't heard that name in a LONG time. Is he on any other boards?
Hasn't been on Inside Nebraska for at least a couple years if not more. But yes, he had some terrible takes or some great trolls.
