Absolutely agree. Had to eliminate the bots first so they could get more authentic data. He’s definitely playing the long game, which is much easier to make the tough choices and withstand the backlash since it’s private.Yuuup, and Twitter's API entrenchment is so much worse than Reddit....might be something that Elon pays attention to maybe, idk?
I think it has to do with them wanting to monetize their API. Also, Reddit just had protests because they limited access to their API. Companies make bank from the data provided, so the data generating companies are reining that in.
Elon won't ever be able to eliminate bots and I don't think he actually cares about it either.Absolutely agree. Had to eliminate the bots first so they could get more authentic data. Twitter ain’t goin nowhere.

Ok, so Twitter was on Google’s cloud service and Elon refused to pay them due to reliability. Side note, their search engine and AI using twitter to harvest data. The change was to limit traffic while they figure it out. What a move.

I think he was stiffing AWS too, but what do large tech companies need compute power for anyways?Elon won't ever be able to eliminate bots and I don't think he actually cares about it either.
If it is actually a Google Cloud negotiation move, then this is even dumber than I thought. Reliability cannot be the reason...lmao. Also, Google will still harvest Twitter data regardless of where Twitter chooses to house their data.
He thinks he's a CTO now. He could get away with it if he had a strong staff but most of the best tech talent there in site reliability, security and product have all left. Those that remain are just trying to appease a guy that does not know what the fuck he's doing. Some here didn't believe when I said Elon had no idea what he was doing at Twitter. Tesla and Space-X grew up with Musk; having handlers for Elon and his little 'ideas' was baked into their corporate culture. Twitter had nothing of the sort, and, well...
