Sign Up Now!Idk about Harbaugh, but let’s say it was saban with Bama would you feel the same way? I think there are a few coaches who matter on game day. Guys like Riley and Day who call the plays matter more.Honest Q: do Michigan fans think not having Harbaugh on the sidelines for 3 more games (then they get him back for B1G CCG + CFP) is that big of a deal? Do they think that's gonna cost them wins?
Harbaugh has full access to practice and gameplanning all week - that's when the games are won anyway. This is essentially a sideline ban for Harbaugh. He can still be in contact with the coaches during game via cell phone/etc, right?
How much coaching does Harbaugh really do during games? He doesn't call offensive or defensive plays. He basically screams at the refs all game, so UM is gonna miss out on that.
I get why Michigan is pissed, but this seems like an extreme reaction to threaten to leave the B1G. If I were a Michigan opponent, I wouldn't have EXTRA confident in beating them just bc Harbaugh isn't on the sidelines. And Michigan has not denied that they did this yet. Leaving the conference over this seems like WAY an overreaction
**someone tell me what I'm missing here - none of this is adding up to me**
The Michigan men are protecting their own and they are supposedly will get a TRO against the BIG tomorrow and JH will be on the sidelines. They think they did nothing wrong since everyone does it, but since it came from the BIG and not the NCAA or got no formal notice from the NCAA, they think the BIG is acting out of bad faith. The whole thing is like watching Suits with all of the lawyers involved.Honest Q: do Michigan fans think not having Harbaugh on the sidelines for 3 more games (then they get him back for B1G CCG + CFP) is that big of a deal? It's exactly like Suits in that they cause all their own problems and then someone remembers this one thing that gets them all out of their bad decisions in the end.The Michigan men are protecting their own and they are supposedly will get a TRO against the BIG tomorrow and JH will be on the sidelines. What do you expect? If we were in Michigan’s shoes most of us would be rationalizing it too assuming we were in the hunt for a natty. The Michigan men are protecting their own and they are supposedly will get a TRO against the BIG tomorrow and JH will be on the sidelines. Nah, we'd put ourselves on probation like we've doing since we fired Solich. What do you expect? If we were in Michigan’s shoes most of us would be rationalizing it too assuming we were in the hunt for a natty.
All fans are the same.Nah, we'd put ourselves on probation like we've doing since we fired Solich.
I'd imagine so. I mean, why not?So hypothetically, if Michigan gets a judge to sign off on a restraining order against the suspension, can B1G just throw another penalty at them?
I would for Big 10 to say, okay now we throw in post season. What do you expect? If we were in Michigan’s shoes most of us would be rationalizing it too assuming we were in the hunt for a natty.
Agree on the play callers. My point is this: hypothetically if we had Michigan on our schedule in say, 2 weeks, I wouldn't feel any better or worse about our chances playing them without Harbaugh on the sideline. I'd feel exactly the same about our chances.Idk about Harbaugh, but let’s say it was saban with Bama would you feel the same way? I think there are a few coaches who matter on game day. 100% agree.Agree on the play callers. My point is this: hypothetically if we had Michigan on our schedule in say, 2 weeks, I wouldn't feel any better or worse about our chances playing them without Harbaugh on the sideline. I'd feel exactly the same about our chances.
I actually don't think UM's chances of winning these 3 games are any better or worse having Harbaugh on the sidelines or not. Those games are gonna be won in the trenches, in QB play and in the week-long game prep (which Harbaugh is there for).
I almost want a player to chime in. If this were HS then yeah, surely a big deal. But CFB games are won via (1) players, (2) via week-long game plan, (3) via mam moth $8m assistant coaching staffs who do the game plans and coach the players. All of this is still in place for Michigan.
Just seems ridiculous to want to leave the conference over this when IMO it doesn't materially affect their chances of winning or losing either way.

In fairness, I will volunteer myself as the Platinum Board representative who confirms whether your statement is in fact true, or false.I get the “I only do missionary in the dark” vibe from her
