The Michigan spy

Also been harboring a pedo on their staff through all this. Sad!

So during the calendar year they've had to fire their co-OC for unspecified computer crimes, suspended their head coach because of an NCAA investigation and his failure to comply with it, let a staffer go for getting on Chris Hansen's radar, and angered the entire football world with an elaborate sign-stealing operation that included a coach going to another school and wandering the sidelines, posing as a member of their staff like the world's least funny version of Fletch.

Seems normal.

doesn't seem like there's much control going on in that institution

Pete Thamel reported tonight that in the Big Ten Athletic Directors meeting with Tony Petitti, the most powerful message came from Michigan State athletic director, Alan Haller.

While is has been rumored that Ryan Day has been the most vocal coach, Haller’s message is being discussed the most since it included alterations in preparation that Michigan State needed to go through prior to its game with Michigan when he received a call in the middle of game week.

He also referenced last year, when the Big Ten quickly and aggressively forced Michigan State to suspend numerous players after the tunnel incident in Ann Arbor before the league finished investigating the incident.

He expressed the hypocrisy of the Big Ten in the event that Michigan would not be punished since they are under investigation, but Michigan State’s players were not protected especially in this situation where player protection seems to be a major concern.

This is not the typical demeanor of Haller, so it has been reported that this resonated with Petitti and the other Athletic Directors.

I realize people say this all the time, but he is such an excellent communicator and face of the program.
I like hearing the lock room and on the field talk more than anything. You can tell he holds his players accountable. He isn’t taking any shit. He is the grinder Turd wanted. His public persona is a lot different than behind the scenes. He handles both sides well for sure.

That “public persona is a lot different behind the scenes” is so true. And yet both come off as genuine. Not like he’s a fake nice guy - just balances his roles well.

The Michigan State AD brought up a good point. How many players were hurt in games against Michigan because they knew where the play was going to be?

Even if there was one player hurt because they knew where the play was going to be, then Michigan did not care for any players on the field that day. Yeah, injuries happen, but when it's a level playing field, then injuries are random to a certain degree. But when one team knows exactly which play is coming, made the impact stop on that play and then caused an injury, that is against Michigan.

And to once again bring up Desmond Howard, while we just wanted to play football in 2020, what Michigan did was actually hurt players if any were hurt in the last two years playing against the Wolverines. And that it worse than what Nebraska could have ever done in 2020 when it came to player's health.
