Stock Market/Investing/Day Trading/Speculative Trading Thread

I had a driver quit to drive for UPS about a year ago and he just came back. He said they call everyone “part time” so they can pay less than the normal rate and also work them less hours.
Oh I have been told UPS is a bitch of a company to actually work for.

Great Benefits and pay for some but not a great work environment.

Do you spend the same amount on housing as you do office supplies? That's the point of weighting.

That, and weighting changes with time because the way people spend money changes with time. Like back in the 1970s, the average family wasn't spending very much on cell phones and Internet access, you know? Back in the day, the average family spent about 33% of their budget on food, but today the average is like half that. Sometimes you hear some chucklefuck say something like "If we measured inflation like we did back in the 1970s..." and it's like STFU, we don't measure inflation the same way we did back then because it would be fucking retarculous to.

Yeah I think it’s a great gig for the guys who have been there for 20 years with union seniority. Shitty for everyone else
My UPS route driver for the last 9 years (Jason) just used his seniority to bid to an easier out-of-town route. They wanted him to make 200+/stops per day.

As a former ops guy in the LTL trucking industry, I get route density and productivity, but ho Lee shit that’s a lotta stops.

Yea, I grew up in the trucking industry. My dad was VP of a regional LTL carrier, and I worked my way through college as a city pickup and delivery driver. I left his company in favor of operations, terminal management, district sales management, then sales product & skills training at a national level for ABF. I've been gone from that industry for a looong time. Met some great people along the way, many of whom remain close friends to this day.
