Special Teams Coach Hot Board

I've been as negative as anybody but it is kind of funny. 2 seasons ago it was like, if Nebraska just gets better at special teams. Just don't be bad at special teams they have 2 more wins on their schedule.

Then Nebraska gets A LOT better on special teams....same amount of wins Lol. Sorry guys the curse lives on.
We had 2 more wins than 2 years ago. Arguably because of special teams.

Believe what you want.

"Alright everyone, I had a conversation with Coach Ek on a flight to Denver this morning.

He’s in-fact headed to LA right now to meet with USC. He said he hasn’t made any official decisions yet, but returning to Nebraska didn’t appear to be an option. When I asked about his motivation for leaving he said it simply came down to not wanting to coach only ST’a any longer - he wants a bigger role and to be part of the defense. He said this was the first time in his career that he’s only coached ST’s and he won’t be doing that again.

He said he felt helpless this past season having to just sit back and watch the defense fail.

He and his wife were very nice - I wished him the best of luck in the future, except for the times he plays against Nebraska."

Dvoracek is just too valuable. I heard he’s going to be a DC someday! If you have to let elite ST go to ensure this wunderkind remains on staff, so be it.

It doesn’t fucking matter of Ek is here.
Everyone needs to fucking stop being a little fucking bitch over this.

Nebraska isn’t playing for the cfbp next year. A good/great special teams might get Nebraska to 8-9 wins of everything else improves.
Oh no it might be a 6-8 win season instead! It’s all the fucking same. Recruits and portal whores don’t give a fuck if Nebraska wins 6 or 8 games. They still view Nebraska as a program with a good amount of money in NIL, but they also suck.

In the laundry list of issues this is a zit on the programs ass crack. Won’t even register as a problem

All the same, Rhule is being a wanker if all the lad wants to do is coach linebackers as well.

Honestly, looks like the bloke can’t handle being challenged… especially not in two bloody meeting rooms.

guess I didn’t need to personally know Ekeler to be right about him wanting more responsibilities, interesting.

His resume says he was just STC at North Texas all the way back in 2020, but whatever.

No it doesn't. If it dies it won't come back. Only chance we have is to keep the money coming in.
We died (as a football power) a long time ago. The odds of ever getting back to a championship level, regardless of finances, are seemingly zero.

We have poured hundreds of millions into this program over the last 20 years. Where has it gotten us? This isn't about money. It is much deeper than that.
