Was discussed in multiple threads.
Lately Rhule has spoken of Ekeler as a peer and a staple of the staff. Someone he leaned on for advice during hiring.
However, he’s also mentioned Ekeler’s value isn’t just his high energy. It’s the technique, scheme, and install that Ek brought. Rhule says that’ll be the blueprint from here on out, whether Ekeler is here or not.
To me, that means Rhule isn’t going to put up a fight if someone comes at Ekeler with a bag. He’s got what he needs. And the fanbase would eat him alive for it, rightfully so.

I will adjust my prediction from 4 wins to 3 if we lose Ek.
There’s a thread going on about this on HOL. Most of the conversation points to this being a big nothingburger (none of this is coming from Dean or the staff at this point).
Mostly family ties and accounts (can't verify them) of convos with Ek just a week ago.
Now if this ends up coming true, we can ask what would move a Nebraska local who came back partially to be near his family and help a program he used to coach for and grew up around to jump ship after just a year. That would be a hard one to spin.

I don’t recall this either, beyond what you mentioned. But for those who have already thrown in the towel on this staff, this is just another bullet in the chamber—another thing that hasn’t even happened yet that they’ll cling to and complain about endlessly.
Gonna need to wait and see on this one - but would be a monumental failure by Rhule and Co to lose Ekeler.

Wonder if Colin Klein is looking for a special teams coach? If so, pay that man his money.
All I gotta say is FUCK Rhule if he lets Ekeler walk who is arguably his best coach on staff be it a coordinator or position coach.
