I used to think makers mark was low end bourbon until last spring dad went to the bourbon trail and brought back a good bottle of it. I’d have to look In his liquor cabinet to see exactly what it was. Needless to say my opinion of it has changed.
For sure! They have some great stuff. I’ve had too many of their barrell picks this year, but most of them are solid or better. I would definitely pay for a Cellar-Aged, the BRT, and BEP, but probably any of their wood finishing series. Let me know what your dad got, it sounds intriguing

I'm not gonna pretend to be as high end om my bourbon as some of you, but I do enjoy sitting back and sipping on a few different ones. That being said, what's the word on Angel's Envy? I don't know shit about it other than I thought the bottle looked cool so I grabbed it.

It’s solid. I went to the distillery in Louisville during a work trip and the tour guide was the most Kentucky sounding mf’er you could possibly imagine.

Was he largely balding but had longer hair? Like a golem looking a little?

I’ll keep touting beam double oak. I’d also add Four roses small batch but I’ve had phenomenal bottles and not so good.

Weller is no longer bang for your buck. It’s become status.

OGD BiB, Evan SiB, Four Roses SB, Elijah Craig SB… those are my top three on the list above in terms of actual bang for your buck.

What can you guys tell me about Bookers? Haven't tried it. Thought I've heard good things. Have a chance to buy it but unsure if it's overpriced at $130.
Like bookers, another high proof bourbon. Usually see it in the $100-110 range so not terrible price. Not sure where you’re located but as of Tuesday wall to wall in papillion had 3-4 bottles for $100

We moved from Omaha to Norfolk a couple months ago so this seems like it might be a good deal around here?

My chemical rep sent me a bourbon advent calendar. 50 ml bottle everyday. It's the fucking tits. I love Chicken Cock. One of the best non high end bourbons on the market. I have a bit of a problem.....have over 70 bottles currently in my collection. TPB ghey party at my house??

Where at?

No idea on what’s. Normal for Norfolk but I’ve paid higher markups for stuff I’ve wanted so go for it. A 120 proof knob creek would taste very similar to bookers (both made by Jim beam) if you want to try something with similar taste for less money.

Check for release dates and then check Costco. They’ll usually have it for $90, but they often go fast. Most people I know collect them because they are easy to collect. Standard Booker’s releases can vary quite significantly in regard to taste. There are 4 per year. I try to sample before buying a Bookers because they can be incredibly hit or miss for me
