Genever today tastes malty (similar to a light Scotch) with subtle undernotes of herbs and spices. If you don't like gin's piney qualities, please do not assume you'll also dislike genever.

I did personally witness a woman get 2nd pick at a hyvee raffle and take Eagle rare with some very very good bottles available. I was picked in the 25-30 range and got a blantons gold.
 
William Larue Weller Special Reserve. 140 proof.. because I’m fucked. My wife convinced accounting at my club to CC her on our monthly statements. First time that’s happened since we joined in 2017. Of course, I get a liquor audit the next day and am relegated to only drinking with other people. And keeping it to one or two per day. I just made friends with the guy next to me at the bar ..

Got this from a guy at work who went in on a small cask from Patriarch distillery here in La Vista. Aged 5 years in the cask. Strength out of the cask was ~160, brought it down to 104 and bottled it. Gave me bottle #1 and just gave me bottle #2. I gave him $40. Very good stuff!
 
Found a couple good buying places recently. Does a half a dozen bottles each of Colonel Taylor, Eagle Rare, and Blanton’s constitute a problem?

Yes it is, I have a bottle of that and Weller 12 year. My dad likes to take the 107 and 12 year and make “poor man’s pappy” mixing them. Quick Google search shows 2 parts 12 year, 3 parts 107. That really is a very nice blend too, wether it tastes like pappy or not.

If your like me, only because the liquor cabinet is too small and your wife complains it’s full of whiskey and she can’t put any of her stuff in it. 🤣🤣
