He hasnt declared yet genius. Who’s wandale play for?
Certainly he must be listed in some mock drafts for next year, right? There's gotta be a lot of buzz about where Benhart will get drafted from the talking heads.

I don't think anyone is denying that Wan'Dale is a good player, but he's essentially the lone NFL caliber player from that signing class and most of his success came after he left Nebraska.

Yesterday i was told how shitty our 2019 class was and how theres no NFL guys there. Benhart is a 2019
If he gets drafted it will be miraculous and I will happily read all of your posts gloating that you were right. Line on 2024 draft picks is 1.5. You taking the over?

Gonna quack here for a bit. With all the reaches recently I've been starting to wonder whether this staff maybe isn't as hardworking on the recruiting trail as we've been led to believe.
If you offer a guy with other P5 offers, chances are he's not going to jump on the opportunity, and a good chance he'll choose another school. You've wasted time, energy, and resources on someone who won't play for you. Whereas offer someone whose only other offer was from Lane College or Prairie View A&M, you're pretty sure they're going to commit quickly. No wasted time/energy/effort - at least in the short term.
It's hard to believe this staff is just that much better at identifying diamonds in the rough than the 65 other P5 staffs.

Would he have been drafted before the 5th if he didn't leave?

This staff was brought on in December. This class's kids had been Unofficially visiting schools targeting them for probably 2 years +.

Rhule didn't come from another college. He didn't have a pipeline of existing targets to recruit here.

Oh, and Nebraska Football has been a bottom tier P5 school for the last half decade.

It's going to be a bitch in recruiting til we can show this is getting turned around on the field

He was more likely to end up seriously hurt here with how Frost and co. were utilizing him.
Hypothetically if he didn't get hurt he still would have caught on as a WR somewhere but pretty unlikely he goes in the 2nd. I was pissed he left but getting full time reps at WR was no question the right move for him.

This is true for every first year coaching staff ever.

Every other article written on this program is about his and his staff's deep Texas connections. Can't have it both ways.

So is there a sudden drop off between year 19 of sucking and year 21 of sucking, that now we need to take more reaches? The only real options are that Rhule and his staff are uniquely amazing at spotting diamonds in the rough, or that this staff getting outworked by the JV staff of Scott freaking Frost lmao

It’s your head coach who’s telling me he’s an NFL player! I’m just relaying the info! Like Rhule said Scott left him a good roster!

So why didn’t Rhule hire some assistant coaches from the college ranks who already had relationships with recruits or recruits of their own??

Wandale made the right choice. Under Duvall, our s&c stood for slow and clumsy. Doubt he gets drafted if he had stayed.
Cam Jurgens didn’t benefit at all from Duvall. Neither did CTB. I get what you’re saying but the biggest thing we bitched about is we weren’t big or physical enough for the Big 10 West.

Duvall certainly made us bigger and more physical. It’s just that wasn’t in line with what Scott wanted to do scheme wise.

Yes.. I can see 2/3.

Newsome is a draft pick health permitting.

Then you have a group of guys
  • Grant
  • Washington
  • Kemp IV
  • Reimer
I also think Rhule is known for developing and maximizing kids. So, I am betting that 1 kid from that 2nd group gets picked.
