Wandale made the right choice. Under Duvall, our s&c stood for slow and clumsy. Doubt he gets drafted if he had stayed.
It was being reported he wasn't a draftable prospect during his time here. Don't know how much of that is on Duval... I would put 99% of that on Frost for how he was using him.

I also am not sold on Duval being bad. I put most of that on Frost in not having a clear vision for what he wanted from his team. I am not going to die on the hill saying he is good by any means.

Yeah, Rhule was the better hire for sure and #2ndChoice is overrated. Just ask anyone who covers college football for a living. Nebraska fans having blinders on is what we do best. 80% talked ourselves into Mike Riley being a good hire. “Does things the right way”

KOOLAIIDDD BELLCCHHH sometimes you just gotta go get a fucking winner. And 1 year wonder Frosty don’t count
I for one have never seen a AAC Champion head coach who went to a NY6 bowl/Playoff game not work out once he jumped to P5.

He was good at packing tons of weight on dudes and getting them to 1/2 squat a ton. Unfortunately for us, that didn't translate very well on the field.

I think playing WR was the bigger piece. I don't know how much S&C is really going to change someone in 6 months. Not that it's nothing but it's not like they were sitting around smoking weed all day like they were with Riley.

It’s your head coach who’s telling me he’s an NFL player! I’m just relaying the info! Like Rhule said Scott left him a good roster!
Grain of salt on coaches talking about their players. I'd rather have the positive guy making the best of what he has than the Deion situation. Might work for Deion but it's a big risk and all but guaranteeing you're going to have a really shitty first year probably 2.

Having said that might be the right way to go in Colorado's situation. We'll see.

Yes.. I can see 2/3.

Newsome is a draft pick health permitting.

Then you have a group of guys
  • Grant
  • Washington
  • Kemp IV
  • Reimer
I also think Rhule is known for developing and maximizing kids. So, I am betting that 1 kid from that 2nd group gets picked.
Newsome seems the most likely. Washington will be interesting. Assuming he has a good year combine will play a role for him

Reimer and Grant are FA. Kemp no idea.

3 of your 5 were transfers. I should have specified transfers don't count.

Cam Jurgens didn’t benefit at all from Duvall. Neither did CTB. I get what you’re saying but the biggest thing we bitched about is we weren’t big or physical enough for the Big 10 West.

Duvall certainly made us bigger and more physical. It’s just that wasn’t in line with what Scott wanted to do scheme wise.
I agree with all of that. Prior to Duvall we were getting manhandled in the trenches. They went too far in the opposite direction. Breakdown between S&C and scheme you have to put that on Frost.

Grant is probably the most unlikely... Just RBs don't have any value in the NFL and he is not a good enough threat out of the backfield.

I could see Reimer being a late round guy. He seems to be good in coverage and would be a safer pick later in the rounds given the amount of football he has played.

Kemp on SI's Draft projections had him as a 3rd round grade. I frankly don't think he has the frame or top end speed unless his acceleration is unreal to end up as a top 3 round pick.

Washington is one of the more overlooked guys on the roster. I think if we are going to have a good offense this year you need a Washington, Betts or somebody else other than Kemp needs to have a big year.

Newsome is an NFL CB. I expect a big year from him.

Are you comparing Frost at UCF to #2ndChoice at Cincy? Lololol cmon now.

One had sustained levels of success for like 8 years and the other was a 1 year wonder who didnt even recruit or develop the guys he won with.

Agree the assistant hires sucked ass. Wasn’t Rhules request to have a huge assistant salary pool?

#2ndChoice woulda put together a helluva staff with that checkbook. Remember we were his first choice.
