Running List of Coaches Leaving NU 2024 Edition

Why are you talking like Dana is the head coach?

Rhule has never missed on a DL coach and I don’t expect that to happen now.

Frank Okam will be your guy at DL.
Hoping we go BIG on the DC hire something like $2 mil/year +, especially since we are getting $3 mil + the remaining contract amount left from FSU for White. Dana is making $1.2 mil/year with Houston still footing the bill, most expected his salary would only be $600-800K.

If Dana wasn’t being paid by Houston but still our OC I bet his salary would be $2 mil + /year. For Nebraska to 1.5-2x Dana’s expected salary, I have to think the DC will be massive.

There is zero way Butler is going to be paid a top 10 DC like White was at $1.6 mil, and just like Satterfield was top 10 OC at $1.4 mil.

Didn't realize we only ended up with 26 sacks on the year. In comparison, somehow a Chins' lead defense had more in 2019.

Felt like we had 20 very early on in the season. Perhaps the DL wasn't as good as we thought it was, and that Ty basically carried that entire crew.
The blitzing was garbage last year

Woof...man I did not realize that either.

James Williams had 1 big game sacking Colorado's QB and then basically vanished.

Goodbye GIF

Nash was a much better player in 23 than 24. He was dominant at times in 23. Maybe he was dealing with an injury this year, but his production was down.

40 tacks and 4.5 sacks in 23 to 15 tackles and 2 sacks in 24.

I think it was pretty clear to anyone who has watched the last two years he wasn’t the same player this year.
I thought he held up well this year. The run plays which killed us were RPO and out of the spread. I thought our linebackers were the big problem in the run game. I thought the interior line was similar to last year. It also helped that our defense didn’t play anyone with a pulse outside of 2-3 games last year and we got abused in those games.

Will be interesting to see what type of DC is brought in and what this base defense will be. If it's an even front, I'm sure there will be a DT coach and DE coach now that there's no rules on how many on the field coaches you can have.

I'm an even front guy myself, it's my preferred defense. But also I'm conservative in nature. I like 4 man rushes and keeping things in front.

If the DL was this juggernaut we're making it out to be, shouldn't they have had more sacks?

Look, I'm not arguing lol, it is just interesting looking back at the stats.
Feel like the strength and identity of our DL was as run stoppers and not pass rush/pressure. To me very little true pass rush talent.

Maybe master of the obvious there, but…
