I think our edge crew was pretty bad. Nash and Robinson were decent at pressure and run d, but they weren't fast enough to get to the QB.

I think that's part of the problem with the 3-3-5, even when White sent pressure, the LB crew never seemed to get there or got sucked up by the line.

So FSU now has 3 DL coaches
What if Knighton is announced as just a Co-DC or Assistant DC and White is grooming him to be a next up and coming DC? White building his tree early before he takes a head job.

Would make way more sense than carrying 3 DL coaches. Right now they have one coach per down linemen position in Tony's defense 😂

While we didn’t get many sacks I do feel we pressured and hurried many QBs at a good clip. Granted, sacks are better. But never once did I feel like statue QBs were sitting back and allowed to just sling it all over the yard without us getting in their faces

Maybe the numbers will prove me wrong though.
I feel like the completion rate under pressure is still pretty high. We moved QBs around, but whiffed way too often and in too many situations whatever pressure there was still resulted in a completion. We were capable of dominating a bad CU OL, but not the heart of our B1G schedule.

Will be interesting to see what type of DC is brought in and what this base defense will be. If it's an even front, I'm sure there will be a DT coach and DE coach now that there's no rules on how many on the field coaches you can have.

I'm an even front guy myself, it's my preferred defense. But also I'm conservative in nature. I like 4 man rushes and keeping things in front.
There’s such a wide variety of offenses in the Big Ten - from running 106% of the time like Cockeye to pass-happy offenses like Ohio State - I think it’s hard to pick one that works against all.

That said, I’m an even front guy too and was never a huge fan of the 3-3-5.

Or none of it will matter in the long run when FSU gets skunked in their mid major conference again next year and they are all out of a job

shoot for the stars and you'll at least land on the moon.

FIFY 😉

But excellent point and I never got the 3-3-5 deal either.
It's really a 2-4-5 anyways with the 2 Big Guys in the 'middle'.

Knighton moving on proves that even more.

We have begged to have a staff that moves to equal or better jobs - now we have that and we go "fucking Rhule fucked it all up"

No - Tony White was always going to leave within 3 years. He left after year 2, I don't care the reason. It was always going to happen. He's taking a guy that was crucial to his defense with him, who just so happens to be very early in his coaching career and is about to have 2 big time programs and NFL experience on his resume.

Everyone. Is. Replaceable.
White had one foot out the door from day one. Adios
