Peeds & Davison

The Peed family own multiple ranches in Bestern Nebraska and Sandhills Publishing. They have a lot of money and big boosters to UNL.

Shawn Peed, the son of Tom Peed, is a buddy of Frost/Davison/Bruning and the rest of the Brat Pack in Lincoln. He loves being a person of influence and being pals with ‘known’ people in the community. He and his family were big enablers of Frost’s behavior.
Zach owns the Dormie Network, including Arbor Links and the soon to be Gray Bull GC in Maxwell.

Yep, leaving his position within the next 3 weeks. No affiliation with NU & this organization. ABM (Lambrecht) also winding down operations.

Not sure why the negative reaction, this is Matt & Gerrod removed from circles where they have official ties & influence, and into getting money from boosters to pay the players Nebraska has & wants.
Our biggest booster and TC members getting involved with our NIL. How did that work with ABM? Gerrod/Bruning brought in supposedly $5 million but only paid out $2 Million. Where did the rest of that money go? Should be an investigation. Especially when your BFF is the coach and is funneling players to ABM. Sounds mighty scammy as that $5 website, office rent and a couple employees seems like low overhead thus making one think the principals might have absconded with serious coin. Is this a cover up for ABM/Gerrod/Bruning? They are all in bed together so lots of back scratching and covering up. We can sure use their money but we don't need them trying to control our athletic department for their own gain. Drain the Swamp Turd, Drain the Swamp.

I have to say that I’m a big fan of the Dormie Network, Husker shenanigans notwithstanding
The golf courses are good. I am excited for Gray Bull. Love David McClay Kidd as an architect.

Always been confused on how profitable Dormie Network is for the Peeds. Just get the feeling it's a hobby for Zach and they take it on at a loss.

Those type of places generally rely on members bringing groups out regularly. All the rooms, food, etc are what keep the places going. The Dormie membership itself is actually pretty affordable if I recall.

Really excited to see how Gray Bull turns out.

They really should have a mandatory audit with financial statements being public record. No different than being a sports agency in the end though.

Where did the 5 mil come from? That was the initial invrstment or that was the amount of contracts they signed? I would think the contracts aren't all up front.

It might have been Dean or one of the other media that reported that ABM had raised over $5 million from boosters/businesses for NIL. Rumblings behnind the scenes are that they have only paid out about $2 million and some questioning what is going on. Doesn't make sense to have expenses of $3 million of the $5 million collected.

Spreading the fund out over a few years? Idk

I really doubt it's turned a profit yet but it's a really cool operation. Their target market is C-Suite guys and they're doing well there. Owner of my company just joined not too long ago actually.

The way I understand it is Tom and Rhonda had 3 main businesses, Sandhills, Certified Piedmontese, Smart Chicken and each son got one of the businesses. SP got sandhills, Shane got Beef, ZP got smart chicken. Some combination of ZP not wanting to be in the chicken business, Arbor coming up for sale, Tyson finally putting their nuts on the table, and them coming up with a cool ass idea for a few golf companies, and here we are. 7 courses total, soon to be 8, eventually many more.

Seems to make the most likely scenario. Plus the commission deduction at let's say 20%.

Casey Thompson advertising deal 12 ads over 3 years. For $300,000. 100k per year as ads are made. Raised 300k. Received from business 100k. Paid out to player 80k.

I doubt many businesses signed up to have their advertising dollars spread out over a few years.
I'd be surprised if they didn't. Don't want to keep paying players with career ending injuries, transfers (worded differently of course since they're not supposed to be dependent on which team they're playing for), etc.

Raising money doesn't mean they actually collected the cash.

I'm just saying as a Business Owner I am not writing a check for advertising/promotion that is going to be done in 30 months. I'd want quicker ROI. I believe they have collected $5 million already. And if they do have $3 mill sitting in their Bank Account are they making money off of the interest? Admittedly I don't know how NIL works but honestly after hearing how poorly some of the boosters felt ABM was run I considered trying to get into it. I've dealt with the music, movie & sports world for so many years so promoting and dealing with it would not have been that big of a learning curve. Paying a performer $5,000 to perform as an MC at a party or on an ad was pretty easy to set up. Just need a good lawyer and well thought out business plan. Nebraska Fans love to support our Huskers.
