Outdoors thread

It seems to be a combination of things:

1. Commercial fishing practices

2. Over abundance of pink salmon are outcompeting them on food in the ocean.

3.headwaters becoming too warm at times during the summer.

Seals and sea lion populations have exploded.

Predatory birds not managed and populations exploding.

Invasive fish (walleye, etc.) Chowing down on the fry.

and kill nets stretched across rivers....

our number one issue is trawlers and accidentally bycatch but that’s been an issue for years with no action being done. It’s just destroys the ecosystem.

The trawlers day is coming and maybe soon.

They have been getting the shit kicked out of them for thier halibut by catch and now salmon has finally been brought into it.

The halibut kill (by catch) is more than like 100% of our (WA) annual halibut quota.

All for fish sticks and shit.
