I played golf today with a couple of friends that are ASU alums and they weren't thrilled with how this all played out. they have a big group that goes to 1 away game every year and they weren't too impressed with the choices they will have in the Big 12. Lubbock and Stillwater don't quite have the same appeal as LA and Seattle

We stayed in Santa Monica too. Enjoyed it more than the fancy west Hollywood hotel. Living in one of those houses in Venice Beach would be cool but out of my range. My friend lives in Pasadena and that was alright too. Would have loved to see some of the places further outside of LA like Redlands.

I'm a weirdo though and really liked Butte MT despite it being a total shit hole.

Agree, Butte is a shit hole, but it was once was a copper mining town at one time. If I ever move back, it would probably live in Red Lodge.

I've wanted to go to Red Lodge. A good friends family owns the Rock Creek Resort and she says that area is amazing. She splits time between Rock Creek and their Hotel/Restaurant in Vail. And says she prefers Rock Creek.

I actually grew up and went to HS in Columbus. Wouldn’t mind living in Absarokee either, but the water is low there thanks to the Stillwater.

There’s a lot people from Oregon and Washington state moving there as well. Luckily most are concentrated in Boze Angelas (Bozeman) and Missoula.

It is disappointing that all the west coasters are leaking into all of the good mountain states. At least there's always Wyoming.

My wife’s best friend is in Laguna. Haven’t visited since Covid but were going annually before. Such a fun quiet town. So much money.

Her friend’s little brother was dating a girl (they’re now married with two kids now living in Omaha) a girl who’s mom was best friends with Buffets daughter. So, she was living in buffet’s Laguna house. It wasn’t the nicest house we hung out in while in Laguna but it’ll do. The Robbins Brothers jewelry owners house in Laguna is the nicest. Ridiculously big and extravagant.

I also met the Stefan from Dave Matthew’s band at the Whole Foods there. He and his wife were chatting up my wife’s bestie and I was getting annoyed in the background. We had margaritas to drink in prep for the game of thrones episode. They introd me and I was like whatever, let’s get on with it. Then my wife tells me, that guy is in DMB… We pass him on the way to the car and I was all like “super nice to meet you all!” Not the dick that could give two shits a few minutes ago.

I never got to stay in the house, but my wife tells me they use to stay in John Wayne’s old beach house. The guy who first used IMAX cameras for documentaries owned it. He was also the guy Kubrick brought in to reshoot a bunch of scenes for The Shining. I did hang out at their actual house which their back porch was about 10 feet from the ocean water right off the PCH.

Anyway, love Laguna given how I’ve gotten to experience it.
