Breaking Oregon and Washington to the B1G

They beat the fucking shit out of us in the bowl after we beat them in the regular season.
2010 was a helluva year for husker football…

That year we went 10-2 and our two losses were 20-13 vs Texas at home and 9-6 vs Texas A&M on the road (hose job by the refs) …. We legitimately could have went 12-0 that year in Bo’s 3rd season.

After getting beat vs Oklahoma in the Big12 championship which we led by 17 we didn’t show up with any luster in the bowl game.

That B12 championship game vs OU took the life out of us, the bowl game was basically pointless to us at that point. We were better than UDub we just didn’t show up.

It’s insane to look back on how close we were to 13-0 and a national championship berth that year. But remember… “Nebraska hasn’t been good since the 90’s”

Can someone explain to me like I’m 5 why this is good for me as a fan?
It's one step closer to the next step of the big boy sports schools doing their own thing apart from the NCAA.

We've still got the steps to go of the ACC breakup, a few more schools joining the B1G/SEC/Big 12, then those 3 getting in some dick-swinging negotiations about how that breakaway will happen.

IDK if it'll be great for the fans or not. Probably a system with more parity closer to the NFL than the pageantry, quirks, and tradition of old school college. But it's pretty inevitable now, I say let's hurry up & get there, and be in the conference with the biggest dick.

That was a really good team. I'm generally not one to blame refs but I can't remember another game that was more affected by theHomer. It really felt like we were getting intentionally fucked.

I should go back and watch it again to see if the refs really were that bad or if I was being a homer.

The smaller, regionalized conferences with 8 teams was at least different from the nfl and you could drive to every road game in 4-5hrs or less. So the only way this is appealing to me is if we go to one 64-team power league with 8 regional divisions that would basically take us back to the Big 8, SWC, etc. I just don’t get the appeal of Rutgers vs Washington in a 930pm start conference game in Seattle. Even still, it seems like a crappier version of the nfl and I hate the nfl.
